What recipe are you making for The Superbowl?
So tomorrow is The Superbowl and I'm sure many of you are making some killer snacks. I'm making cheesy bean dip, here's my not so secret recipe:
- 1 can of refried beans
- 1 block of softened cream cheese
- 1 cup of sour cream
- 2 tspb taco seasoning
- 2 packages of Mexican blend cheese (About 4 cups)
1) Preheated oven to 350°
2) Mix together cream cheese, sour cream & taco seasoning
3) Add beans and 2 cups of cheese to mixture and mix well
4) add to casserole dish and top with remaining cheese
5) Bake for 25 minutes or until cheese is melted and sides are bubbly
Feeds me and my brother, double if you are inviting more than 2 cheese lovers!
So, what are you making?

Anything and everything that involves cream cheese.
Someone has to bring the FRANK'S® REDHOT® BUFFALO CHICKEN DIP:

Similar question yesterday although it emphasized bacon. You've got to check out the link for "turtle burgers" in the first response.
I posted a recipe for bacon & water chestnut wraps there also, which are truly delicious but pale in comparison to the awesomeness of the turtle burger.

(Except shredded chicken instead of cubed and less veggies - well, no veggies)
Block of Velveeta, can of beanless chili, cube the velveeta, put the whole thing in a crock pot on low and an hour later you have dip.
This year's theme is Southern BBQ, so I'm bringing jalapeno cornbread. This recipe http://www.recipe.com/corn-bread/ , but with jalapeno instead of green chilies.
Spicy Ranch Pretzels
1 bag pretzels - any shape but I like the square "waffle" shaped ones.
1 cup vegetable oil
1 package ranch salad dressing mix
1 teaspoon red cayenne pepper
1 teaspoon garlic salt
Preheat oven to 225
Pour pretzels into large, flat pan (9x13 or larger)
Combine oil, ranch dressing mix, cayenne pepper and garlic salt and whisk together.
Pour over pretzels and mix/toss until well coated.
Bake for 1 hour, stirring every 15-20 minutes.
Turn out onto paper towel and allow to cool.
Store in air tight container.
Pretzels will get a bit more spicy after a few days.
I'm just getting store-bought Sour Cream and chips. I like taking the easy way out.
I'm on cupcake duty. Making red and blue buttercream frosted vanilla cupcakes. Mmmmm... Might make football shaped Rice Krisipes tomorrow, too if I feel like it.
Chili-Cheese Dip
- 2 cans Hormel Hot Chili
- 1 block Velveeta
- 1 jar chunky salsa
- Various hot sauces
- 1 large jalapeno diced
Melt everything in a crock pot
Also on the list for tomorrow
Country Style Pork ribs on the smoker for 4 hours
Bacon Wrapped Cream Cheese Stuff jalapenos
Bacon Wrapped lil' smokies
Cole Slaw
something bacon wrapped
