Do you own the "Edge of Glory" As seen on TV knife sharpener?
I was intergued about buying this both as a xmas gift for my brother-in-law and one for myself. As is often the case, the infomercial is pretty mesmerizing. Anybody have experience with this thing? It's $9.99 at Walgreens, so I thought it might be fun to try, but at the same time I don't really have cash to throw away.
I don't own one but 9 of 17 Amazon reviewers gave it 1 out of 5 stars. YMMV
I'm assuming it's a good way to ruin your knives.
I used to, but when my sharpened credit card cut my wallet in half I decided it was too dangerous to have around.
Spend a little more money and get a quality product like the Smiths sharpening kit. http://www.amazon.com/Smiths-SPSK-Standard-Precision-Sharpening/dp/B001C3O72Q/ref=sr_1_3?s=home-garden&ie=UTF8&qid=1356612236&sr=1-3&keywords=smiths+sharpening+kit
The only thing the pull-through 'sharpeners' do is knock the burrs & dings off the edge of the blade.
There was an article on this on Yahoo yesterday. They said it doesn't work as advertised. I would say you should pass.
