Is anyone using PagePlus for cell phone service? How is it? OR any cheap unlimited text plan?
I wanted a low cost, unlimited text, cell plan, and a phone with qwerty keyboard. I plan on never use voice unless for an emergency. I tried a T-Mobile phone, because the map says it covers my area but the phone did not work and when I called technical support they told me it would not work in my area.
I did research and found I need CDMA network (Verizon towers).
I found PagePlus.
The plan: Buy the $10 100 Minutes Voice Card good for 120 days (renew 3 times a year), add the Power Text Unlimited $20 a month. This gives me a total yearly phone bill of $270.
Has anyone used PagePlus? Is there a better solution?
That sounds like a pretty inexpensive plan. I have to pay $50/month for unlimited texting/talking through T-Mobile with no contract, which is fine because I used to be prepaid and spent that much anyway for a limited number of minutes, but fifty bucks a month ($600/year) is still steep.
I use Virgin Mobile, $35.00 a month gets you 300 talk minutes and unlimited text, data, messaging and e-mail. Haven't had any issues with them as far as coverage or dropped calls. Comes out to $420 a year. $45 a month gets you unlimited data, text, etc and 1200 talk minutes.
Obviously I don't talk on my cell phone a whole lot so the talk minutes are no big deal for me.
$55 a month gets you unlimited text and talk.
I wanted to add the T-Mobile plan I picked was http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/prepaid-plans $15 a month for unlimited text, the minutes were $.10. Too bad no coverage for me : (.
Is MetroPCS available in your area? They offer unlimited everything (voice, text and data) with no contracts for a very reasonable (IMHO), taxes-and-fees included price.
@secretagentman02: Thank your for your suggestion.
But MetroPCS gave me:
You have entered a zip code that is not within a MetroPCS service area.
I finally bit the bullet and got Verizon. What finally made me decide on it was I am getting a discount on my plan from my employer, and bundled with my DirectTV discount. Uggg having buyers remorse today... because of the 2 year contract... I miss you http://republicwireless.com
I would recommend Boost Mobile and Page Plus prepaid plans because they work on Sprint (Boost) and Verizon (Page Plus) nationwide reliable network.
I got many negative feedbacks regarding Metro PCS service - dopped calls and weak signal. Virgin Mobile covers only local areas.
There is a simply rule when you pick a provider, you get what you pay for. You can save a lot using small carrier with limited minutes but get ready to have no signal if you like to travel out of town and count your minutes left.
Page Plus is AWESOME, for 29.95 I get 1200 minutes/3000 texts/100MB's of data... the best part is you can use almost any verizon phone without flashing them. They also have a few other plans:
Unlimited Talk n Text
$39.95 Talk n Text
The Unlimited Talk n Text plan offers unlimited domestic voice minutes, unlimited domestic text messages, and 20 megabytes of data transfer. All this for $39.95 a month on one of largest networks in the nation.
