questionswho is ready for a woot-off?!?

I'm in the "Meh" crowd. It could be tomorrow, or next Tuesday, or not at all. If there is one tomorrow, will the BOC be available to everyone(assuming that there will be a BOC)? Hmmmmm...that might make a good question.....

I don't get that excited anymore, I have plenty of electronics, need to find some Todd's Dirt elsewhere and I have not been able to get a BOC in almost 2 years.....

I don't think there's been any real woot-off excitement for a while, excluding the bacon and pirate woot-offs. I used to rush home after work in excitement on woot-off days sigh

Ever since this thread:

I have always secretly hoped that they would in fact pick the most popular theme (mine :) ) Back to the Future and that I would get some cool prize or something for my idea. But it has never happened, and probably never will.

I love woot offs, but only because I spend 90% of my time at wine.woot (the other 9% here and 1% at shirt). And the wine.woot offs are great! I don't check the other sites ever during the woot off.

I'd rather see a Woot-Hoff. I kinda miss that guy.

I used to love woot offs - didn't matter if i got the BOC (i've gotten some, and missed plenty more) - but the items themselves were usually either interesting, great deals, or at least varied enough to keep me watching.

Now? it's just a collection of retail priced items that don't inspire me to impulse buy.

Lurker here, what is Woot-off?

@cms1776: From the FAQ:
"I see some orange flashing lights on the main page – what do they mean?
No, you aren't seeing a side effect from your allergy medication. You have found a Woot-Off, a short-term frenzied mutation of our usual procedure. In Woot-Off mode, a new product is launched immediately after the sellout of the previous deal. The number of Woot-Off items, sequence, and quantity will not be announced. When Woot-Off mode is over, the orange lights will disappear and our normal schedule will resume. In cases of painful Woot-Offs lasting more than three days, consult a physician."

Most definitely meh. I used to follow woot offs, hoping to grab a deal. Deal?? Hardly. They're all the same price that they were on the initial offering. And the 'initial offering' is not a big bargain. Too often found at the same price elsewhere.

A woot-off might be good if you missed an offering because it sold out the 1st time. Sell-outs are rare now.

And then there's the pursuit of the BOC. All gone now. Meh, for sure.

Having paid attention to the last 6-7 woot-offs the items don't vary heavily, and unfortunately I don't have a use for many of the things that they put up. Other problem is that the new and interesting things are ridiculously expensive, where'd all the cheap, fun things go? I don't need another computer, I don't need another vacuum cleaner, and I don't want a roku. I almost bought the bacon lube...

Might pay attention since Santa has already started shopping.

Though... I except a bagless woot-off, it puts too much load on the servers and stuff stops working. If stuff stops working, Woot! loses on sales and well they're a business and its bad for them. So while I understand the motive behind crapless woot-offs, they'll have to understand why I find woot-offs less exciting and the desire to be impulsive lessens.

TL;DR -- I'm in the "meh" crowd....

@jsoko: lol I was going to post a "prediction" too
I think after awhile predicting Wootoff's becomes a sixth/seventh sense. Albeit a useless, impractical and financially taxing sense with no real-world application... a sense nonetheless!

I'm below meh, I'm mooo.

j5 j5

well - i have to partially take back my earlier comment (though it still applies to the past year's worth of woot offs) - this particular woot off has mixed it up a little... new or different items, some of which are good deals compared to whats out there... I've purchased 2 items so far. Far shy of my 21 item woot off a few years ago (granted i was christmas shopping) - but still.
