How do you know when a Woot Off is going to happen?

No real schedule, though they tend to have the monthly newsletter emailed out the day before. Not that I read them in time ... I usually know first by the flashing lights, what with me being on Woot every night doing the reckoning numbers anyways.

No, but a lot of times woot will send out an email the day or two before which doesn't usually come right out and say there will be a wootoff but they make it pretty obvious.

@tmontgom: Go to the 'my account', then make sure the newsletter is selected.

@tmontgom: just click on "my account" at the top of this page and make sure you have the box for the woot newsletter checked. you don't have to get the daily digest to get the pre-wootoff newsletters.

So far, every Woot-Off I've discovered was via DW Community forum with someone posting a question about the Woot off or a landing a BOC, or I'm sent a text by a family member. I tend to search Woot via deals first, then to the other Woot sites, but not always. So I miss the flashing lights. Kinda wish the other woot sites mini pics were higher up on main page for DW. They'd get a lot more attention I think.

IIRC, the last several started on a Tuesday morning. For a while it was the 2nd Tuesday of the month, but I think January's might have started on the 1st Tuesday. With any luck, we'll have on on Valentines Day.

Geez, why so negative?

You have to vote up more before you can vote down.

Don't get us wrong. Negativity has its place. And downvotes are just as essential as upvotes when it comes to making Deals.Woot a useful place to find deals.

But when your votes lean so heavily toward the dark side, we have to wonder. Go vote up a few things. Accentuate the positive for a little while. It'll do you some good, and it'll do the site some good, too. Then you can get back to dealing out the smackdowns, OK?
