When it comes to rank points, is it better to expire a deal I posted or tattle on my own deal?

I was just wondering about my ranking, and I seem to be lacking in tattles. There are sometimes when deals I post are no longer viable, and I typically just expire them. The question is, would I end up getting a better rank by tattling on my own deal instead of expiring it?

It's my understanding that you get no credit for expiring your own deal. Though I think they (TPTB) were looking into adding some kind of rep credit. OTOH, I've found that tattling on your own deals doesn't work at all since "expire" went into effect - they're never RIP'd. I don't think moderators put a high priority on them. I always expire them.

I have been expiring my own deals and it does not seem to affect the status of my tattle needle.

If you expire your own deals when you know they're expired, I'll like you better. That should count for something.

You can't put reputation points on the table for dinner. You can't bundle up in them when you're cold. You can't get a loan from the bank by using your reputation points as collateral. You can't call your reputation points in the middle of the night, when you're alone, and worried.

Don't worry, I'm here! Reputation is um...stupid. I'm puzzled to see people so focused on reputation, you don't get anything out of it...(except for that 1 TIME when a coupon was given out based on triangle color--for that guy that would try to make that argument). The reputation is a lie. Ok rant over. Moving on!
