I have also used http://secure.checksinthemail.com/

Though I don't know anywhere you're going to get 1/2 a book of checks, or even a single book.

Find the cheapest place. Check printing is such a standardized thing that anyone can do it. Hell, you can even print your own checks if you want to get the paper and software.

Anyway, I think I just got a bunch at vistaprint. Also look for e-coupons for discounts or free-shipping; they're all over the place like at retailmenot.com.

I've used checksinthemail for over 10 year. No problems and they are wicked fast if you need them to be. They offer a faster service for a fee if you are in a pinch (i.e. one check left and you know you need to write out at least 5 in the next couple of days)

Thanks everyone! I ended up going with 4checks.com from a coupon in the weekday circular (thanks @caron7). The coupon, if anyone is wondering, is DE1238 and I ended up getting two boxes of duplicates for $9.95.
