It appears to be a scam I tattled on myself already but the deal is still up. Trying to draw Woots attention to it so nobody gets scammed. My apologies and thanks.

This is not a scam. It is merely a site that requires you to do more than give them money for a product. I doubt you'll ever meet all the requirements to get the TV but it is definitely not a scam.

@catbertthegreat: Isn't paying money though in advance of getting the tv an expectation that you will get the item? Or is that just an MLM thingy? seems sketchy to me.

@catbertthegreat: If you have to get 5 people to also buy the product before you get anything then would this not be some kind of pyramid scheme.

@oheifearnain: I used to Tattle on this kind of thing on a regular basis, but I have given up tattling on much of anything, of late. Most things that I think should be taken down, stay up, including many duplicate items. The weekends are the worst for crap to show up, of course, but I'm just tired of being a vigilante (please consider the definition, and not the semantically loaded common understanding).

@catbertthegreat: On this one, we disagree. It's a scam. Certainly people should be smart enough not to fall for it, but then, they should be smart enough to not vote things up that we see on the Popular page all the time.

Don't get us wrong. Negativity has its place. And downvotes are just as essential as upvotes when it comes to making Deals.Woot a useful place to find deals.

But when your votes lean so heavily toward the dark side, we have to wonder. Go vote up a few things. Accentuate the positive for a little while. It'll do you some good, and it'll do the site some good, too. Then you can get back to dealing out the smackdowns, OK?
