Should sales be posted as deals, or just individual items within the sale?
Pretty much every day Newegg sends out an e-mail listing the various items that are on sale.
Right now, there is this post for the July 4th sale:

And there is this post to a 2TB hard drive that is part of the sale:
http://deals.woot.com/deals/details/270b9a40-2acb-432f-8090-9e84935107ea/seagate-barracuda-st2000dm001-2tb-7200-rpm-64mb-cache-sata-6-0gb-s-3-5-internal#0
Should both deals be posted, or just one? In a way, the hard drive post is a duplicate of the post that links to the whole sale. However, the post for the sale doesn't tell you everything that is on sale unless you click through to Newegg.
Personally, I think deals should only be posted for individual products or sales if they are a certain percent off a category. Theoretically, someone could post every Newegg sale announcement as a deal.
Here's some guidance for you:

I agree with you, I'm not a fan of the "Here's a general sale" (like the newegg post), and prefer to see individual items listed.
I agree with you. I think a blanket/general sale post is pretty much useless unless someone spends the time to describe each item included in the sale. I could see this being the case for some of the Roku sales that have been posted on here because there really aren't that many different options.
If it is a % off sitewide sale than I think the entire sale should be posted. If you were to post on a item-by-item basis than every single item could then be posted.
Individual items is a much better choice. I hate blanket sale deals.
