I figured it would be easy to find one on Amazon. Oh, man, there are pages of them. There's one just like the (expired) deal:

http://www.amazon.com/George-Foreman-GR0742S-Griddle-Cooking/dp/B003YC1DCU/ref=cm_cr_pr_product_top

I can't tell whether there's an actual timer, though, and it doesn't look like there is. I don't really care about the "Panini Press" part, although having a grill might be nice. What I want is a GRILL, with a timer, like the one I have now (except new). Amazon says there's 95 of them to look at. I'm hoping that somene knows which one of these is most like the one I already have.

I was looking at this one the other day. It has a timer. Link to grill.

Can you give us the model # of the one that you have?

@missellienc: Looks good, but boy, is that a lot of stuff I don't want. Still, it grills, and it has a timer (and it's probably one of the 95 choices over on Amazon, too).

@jsimsace: Model number? Mine is the first one that had removable plates. I just checked the bottom. It says "GRP99" (it's about 10 years old). I don't think they've made it for a while, now.

Dang. They STILL make it.

Now I'm VERY torn. I LOVE my grill, but the other thing is kind of cool, too.

This one has a timer on it and, from what I can tell, removable plates. Not sure about the temperature gauge.

@captainsuperdawg: I like it, but I don't know that Vendor, and some of Amazon's storefronts are somewhat iffy. It made me laugh to see that there were two used ones for more money than the new ones, though.

I don't think I'd want a used grill. ;-}

It says "digital countdown timer" which is what I want.

Man, you guys always come through.

Thanks to everyone for helping me wade through these. Back in the morning.

A George Forman Grill you can bake cupcakes with. Who knew?

@shrdlu: Found the same thing on eBay, albeit for about $25 more. The seller has a 99.7% rating, so they seem to be trustworthy. Stating the obvious here, it's your decision.

There is a promo code for 20% off (SPECTRUM20) on the site I linked you to. Shipping is free if your order is over $75.00. Good luck with your hunt!

Whatever one you buy look for one with removable plates. I cannot believe how much easier the newer models are to clean than the original.

vote-for5vote-against

Yes, removable plates is a MUST. We have the one I linked below and it cleans up great. No timer but for the amount of time it takes to cook, we don't need one.

I know you asked for a Foreman, but we replaced our Foreman with a Cuisinart and found it was a significant improvement:

Floating hinge, multiple settings, removable plates, etc...

Just wanted to add my 2¢ before headed to work. This is the one we have, and it seems to match what you're looking for:

It works great and is easy to clean. Hope this helps

Sorry if someone else already said this...

@shrdlu: GRP99 has the largest cooking areal of all that was listed. Last I checked the GRP99 had the largest cooking area with removable plates of the GF grills.

@lparsons42: I use my Griddler's flat plates to cook bacon. When you close the lid, there are no splatters and the bacon comes out flat. I like having a relatively clean counter after cooking a pound of bacon.

First I'd like to thank @shrdlu for asking this question. I've always thought GF grills were not for me. Thought that it would be another appliance that I would seldom use. Too much for someone who cooks for 1 person. Also, thought it was just another 'famous' person endorsement product. 1 new improved model after another, etc. After reading all your responses, I can see I was wrong.

Thank all of you for sharing your experiences w/the grill! You've enlightened me. I not only want one, I know now that I need removable plates. And a timer. Special thanks to @mellielou for mentioning the flat bacon! Nice to not have all that bacon grease on the stove. Fry some bacon, a few hamburgers and :-). Or fry up a bunch & freeze them! :-D

I am waiting for an email from my daughter, since she has one of the grills with all the fancy interchangeable plates. I will probably end up getting that one, if she says she likes it. Otherwise, I'm just going with the GRP99, which is the same as the one I have now (and which I love). I've used it an average of three times a week for the past ten (or so) years, and I suppose I've gotten my money's worth out of it.

Thanks again to everyone. :-)

So, it's down to three:

I really like the one that @missellienc pointed out. This one's similar, and even better (for me).

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B002CVTT2U/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_2?ie=UTF8&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER (I'd need the griddle accessory, though)

http://www.amazon.com/George-Foreman-GFP84GP-84-Square-Accessory/dp/B0046XRMCQ/ref=pd_bxgy_k_text_c

My daughter loves her fancy one, but it doesn't have the timer or digital display.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000A7W4Z2/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_1?ie=UTF8&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

Then there's everyone's favorite, which is the same as the one I already have.

http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0002KINSY/ref=ox_sc_sfl_title_3?ie=UTF8&smid=ATVPDKIKX0DER

All of those are shipped by and sold by Amazon. I just don't know. At least it's down to three, instead of ninety-five, right?

GFP84GP just a griddle. Who wants grease splatter
GRP90WGR no timer
so they are out.
GRP99 classic and largest smallest foot but only 1 year warranty (misprint?)
GRP4EMB Cool plates (need storage room for them) seems to take longer to preheat per reviews smaller.

In the end for us the 99 is still the winner.
http://www.georgeforemancooking.com/products/removable-plate-grills/george-foreman-removable-plates-grill-grp95r.aspx I think is the red version of the 99
http://www.georgeforemancooking.com/products/removable-plate-grills/precision-grill-grp99.aspx shows the 99 with 3 year warranty.

@caffeine_dude: I know that it's a griddle. I would add it to the other one, which has fancy stuff, but not a griddle. I know the one my daughter has lacks a timer, but I place great stock in my daughter's opinions, and it has precisely the fancy kind of stuff that would be nice for me.

I would love having a griddle for making a pancake on those winter mornings when a pancake sounds good, which makes the two fancy choices appealing.

I agree that simply replacing my current one with the exact same model is sound fiscal advice, but I'm still trying to decide between the three. The color on my daughter's grill choice is coincidental. Amazon has the 99 for $70, and I'd have free shipping, so if I were going to get it, I'd get it from Amazon.

We both agree that the 99 is the best value; I'm just thinking that those other items are also appealing...
