@ADQ: any special request on subject matter for the post cards? puppies, kitties, plants, homes, towns, comedy, sunrise/sets, etc?

@moosezilla: I like the idea of cards from the cities you're from, but knowing not everyone loves theirs, something original or adorable!

vote-for8vote-against

I will be spending my lunch break looking for the the perfect card!

vote-for6vote-against

I have random post cards from my travels, but now I want to find something more local too! Maybe I'll send in 100 of them! That should keep them all busy!

vote-for24vote-against

I suggest we give everyone a until the end of the month to build up reserve and then mail them all out on the first week of september. That could be interesting.

vote-for10vote-against

wth is a post card? sounds vaguely 19th century to me.

vote-for9vote-against

Hrm... I must go on a quest for post cards from my local area. Should be able to find something interesting. Love the idea thanks! ohhh and @cowboydann I'm in for waiting till the first week of September. reminds me of the guy who got a pallet of car wax on April 1st a year or two back. But this time joke is on Woot! XD

@no1: oh it is indeed good sir. and I invite you merrily to join us on this endeavor to send out as many post cards to woot as you wish.

If you can't find post cards of your local area and don't want to send quirky ones. There is this neat thing that lets you use your smartphone photos and make them into post cards.

I'm in. Expect card(s) in 2 weeks or so :)

vote-for4vote-against

Sent something to Woot in Texas. Sorry, can't wait.

Hope you enjoy them!

(FYI should be there Wednesday)

vote-for4vote-against

@cowboydann: I'm in! I'm going to build up a nice collection (including some older ones from my travels) and send them to both Texas and Seattle! I'm going to go for at least 10 each, but maybe I can find more! giggles

vote-for5vote-against

@no1: Okay random fact and no one probably cares but you peaked my interest so I looked up post cards on wiki and turns out sold in as early as 1840 http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Postcard least so says wiki if you believe them. its BBC news and some other site.

vote-for5vote-against

I'm in. I better start now, it usually takes me two weeks to get around to mailing things!

vote-for4vote-against

@no1: I wonder what the postage is now?

vote-for4vote-against

I'm in. I will find something interesting.

I have collected postcards since I was about two. Anytime someone went somewhere they brought back or mailed me a card. I collected more as I got older and still dabble. I collect for the pictures rather than look for potential value.

vote-for4vote-against

@dontwantaname: thirty two cents for standard size (6x4) or fourtyfive cents for larger (11.5x 6)

vote-for4vote-against

@dontwantaname: Postage for a postcard is 32 cents. Maximum size is 4 x 6. It needs to be addressed so it is similar to a business envelope with the long side parallel or it costs more.

I think too much as I type, @moosezilla!

vote-for3vote-against

@dravack: Those old ones are expensive! I look but rarely pull the trigger when I see them for sale.

vote-for5vote-against

@dravack: You can use a regular photo and mail those, too. Just address and stamp the back and you are good to go. Maybe a set of themed photos might be fun...

vote-for5vote-against

Awesome idea Gideon :D i'm in! But expect mine in a month or so....assuming it gets there, ha. The post company here struggles even more than our U.S. one most of the time >_<

vote-for5vote-against

I'm in, to both Texas and Seattle.

Not sure what I'll find to send, but something.

And if enough people also send them car wax, then it will be like a pallet of car wax.

vote-for3vote-against

In for one Rick Roll post card.

Thanks for the address ; )

vote-for3vote-against

@agingdragqueen: I'm going to Disneyland this weekend. How about a post card from the happiest place on earth? If you prefer a post card with a specific Disney character, let me know. :)

vote-for4vote-against

Oh wow, I didn't realize the woot-seattle office was actually on the Amazon campus. I play kickball at denny/cascade playfield a lot of seasons. Funny they're right there but I was asking my teammates (they're all Amazon except me) and none of them had even heard of woot.

vote-for7vote-against

I'm in! In fact, I might make my OWN postcards! I've got some desktop publishing experience that I haven't been using, so it's time to get in some practice!

vote-for7vote-against

I'm in. Maybe with something homemade.

vote-for5vote-against

@belyndag: Don't forget the long-abandoned art of scissors and paste!

vote-for2vote-against

@coreyking:

Probably. At least it would make for some unusual items in Bags of Crap...

vote-for4vote-against

Excellent idea. I am headed out of town, way out of town, next week and will be sure to send them a postcard from my destination.

vote-for5vote-against

Sounds like a plan.

Too bad we can't send them Smartpost.

vote-for3vote-against

Hmm, Maybe I'll make a few zentangles on note cards to send as post cards. :) Shall we try to send around the same time, or are people just going to send as they feel like it?

vote-for5vote-against

Used to send themed hand done postcards to friends. Been thinking about doing it again so Woot can be my guinea pig.

vote-for3vote-against

I'm in! I'll start looking around for some to buy and I'll go through some I have bought over the years that are just cool looking!

vote-for8vote-against

The hard working developers need love too.

Send post cards and Redbull to the seattle address.

Mainly redbull.

vote-for6vote-against

I love this idea. :) I can't wait to peek at @agingdragqueen's new collection!

@joneholland: Be careful what you ask for, this group will find a deal on redbull and probably flood you guys over there!

vote-for5vote-against

Don't forget that the Dallas office likes Red Bull too!

vote-for7vote-against

All postcards sent to Woot in general will be shared with everyone, no worries! But I was hoping when we move to our new building in Seattle, particularly, we could get a really awesome Wall of Wooters thing going.

vote-for3vote-against

@inkycatz: I just started looking for deals on Red Bull.

@joneholland: What about Cocaine (3x stronger than Red Bull)?

Do we address it to anyone in particular or just "The Developers"?

Edit: Same questions for you, @brutherford... :)

vote-for2vote-against

Note to the artistic wooters - if your creation is not a rectangle or has more than a little texture, it will likely need more than 32 or 45 cents. If you are not sure, ask at the post office before mailing or send me the details and I can help you out. Almost any creation can be mailed but the postal rules may dictate more $$ to do it. @belndag @mossygreen @lonelypond

vote-for1vote-against

I'm in for some cards, and perhaps a monkey mailbag.

vote-for1vote-against

Hmm, part of me wants to send a decorated can of Red Bull along with the cards to each office, hahaha. Can't decide if that's a good idea or a bad idea, or simply insane. :-P
