Best deal I have found is through HP. Just use the $15 off $75 code, SAVE15HP, and you get it for $65 (plus tax where applicable, so may not be absolute best deal for everyone)

The service rep I talked to gave a canned response when I asked about the pricing ever coming down, and that was after a long pause, so my GUESS is that there is some plan to bring the pricing down, but that HP would rather get as many of us as they can to buy the products at retail before doing so.

is it the same touchstone used with the palm pre, i still have one of those laying around.

@apfrehm: Thanks. After I ordered the Touchpad, I went back to get the Touchstone. With the Student discount, it was $65. Add the coupon and it was $50. Since I didn't get the confirmation email on my Touchpad order, I didn't want to order the charger right away. Once I got the confirmation, I went back to order the charger, and they had eliminated the Student Discount. :(

@rgarcia3: No. The Touchstone for the Pre is much smaller. The one for the Touchpad is a charger and stand all in one.

Provantage had it for $50, but it's sold out for now.

There is no way I'm paying more than $50 for it.

@iggz: That's how I'm feeling right now, $50 seems reasonable but anything else seems too pricey. That being said, I'm also getting paranoid that new owners will make a rush on the current stocks of these, and I won't ever be able to get one...

Still, I have to believe that most people that spent $100-150 on a tablet are going to be pretty slow to plunk down 65%+ of that again on an unnecessary peripheral. Anyone who managed to hit that Staples deal would actually have paid LESS for their tablet than they would for this dock, or the keyboard, or even potentially the case!

@apfrehm: Was that Staples deal even for real? I saw that they sold them for $49.99? I don't believe that.

I lucked out and got mine from HP. I got the 32GB for $120

@iggz: no idea. Sure sounded good though. I won't be buying any accessories until HP sends me a tracking number. Soon, I hope.

Any new deals? I'm looking for one badly but don't want to pay more then $50. Exhibition is too good to not have a touchstone.

@danib62: The HP Academy price is back down to $55.99. Combine it with the Save15HP coupon to get it down to $40.99. You have to add something to get your shopping cart over $50 if you want free shipping.

I bought one from Adorama last night, they said they had stock but cancelled it this morning although their website STILL says it's in stock. The email cancelling it said they would "back order" it. I call BS. Why are they still selling an item they do not have and will most likely NOT get back in stock? Also reported them to WOT.
