Heck Yeah! But what do I know..... I'm an Astros fan.

It sounds like it was smart for Ichiro.

I don't follow baseball (and have never even watched a game) but I know Ichiro was a big part of marketing for the team here in Seattle. My guess is that some folks are going to be very upset.

I must say I was shocked to wake up and see the news. His loyalty to Seattle was admirable and I wondered if it would trump his desire for even greater baseball glory. Sure hope he sees a world series win, even if it is as a Yankee.

I'm a Mets fan and not fond of the Yankees (ancient sibling rivalry), but as a general baseball fan, I've wanted to see him play for years, so his ending up on the East Coast improves my chances.

Everyone is saying no, but he is one of the best Japanese players in history and has over 2400 hits between both of his careers in Japan and the mlb.
