What is the best electric drum set I can get with $1000?

I have about $1000 saved up to buy an electric drum kit and I'm not sure what to get yet. Looking for suggestions though. I'd like to find something with multiple or expandable cymbal pads though. My current live set has 2 crash a ride and a splash. I think it would be tough to go back to 1 crash and a ride.

I have heard good things about this set:

(note, does not come with a kick pedal, but you can use any kick pedal from an acoustic set)

Of course, you can always buy a used Roland V-Drum "brain" off ebay or craigslist and piece together your own set with various midi-controllers.
