questionswhen is the last time you took a bath?

I take them at least once per week. If I had a hot tub I'd use that instead, but no.. I just have the very deep soaking tub. Throw in a little eucalyptus oil, a little mint oil, and soak away while reading a book.

Hopefully you have taken a shower instead of a bath in the last few years... I was worried there for a minute.

I usually shower, haven't taken an official bath in a few months.

I shower, so my last bath was probably 12 years ago.

my last bath was over 16 years ago. the idea of sitting in a puddle of my own filth to get clean just doesn't make since. i have had others tell me to take a shower then use the bath as a relaxing soak (or vice versa) but that also kinda hibbeys my jibbeys. plus i have heard (rare occasions) that it is not good for a female's system.

I don't recall when my last bath was (shower was this morning). I'm not a fan of baths, since I then feel like I need to take a shower anyways. Sitting in warm water surrounded by filth just isn't something that makes me feel clean. We just had to have the Jacuzzi tub in the master bath... which nobody uses.

@moosezilla: I'm with you. A bath is just a tepid pool of my own filth.

I hadn't taken one for about 10 years till 2 weeks ago. My lower back was really stiff and my hip and side abdominals were really sore so decided soaking in the tub would probable help. But at that I ended up taking a 2 minute shower before to wash before soaking. I am not someone that finds soaking in the tub relaxing and as other have said don't feel especially clean after doing so if I do not wash before. Unless I have an injury to soak I steer clear of baths. Maybe if I had a Jacuzzi tub I would change my mind as I do like sitting in hot tubs if the hotel I am at on vacation has one.

I got rid of my bathtub years ago in favor of a steam shower. Not only do I think the "soaking in a soup of one's own filth" is nasty, sitting still like that makes me very restless. When I read or watch TV I am usually up every couple of minutes to do something or another, I am no good at just sitting. Oddly, I do find standing around in the ocean to be very soothing, though, and don't mind doing that for quite a while if I have something even minimally entertaining to occupy my mind. I got the worst sunburn of my life a few years back standing around waist deep in the ocean chit-chatting with other cruise passengers about nothing at all.

Filth? A rather repulsive way to describe it. What are you folk doing to get so dirty? ;-) If you took a bath each day perhaps the water wouldn't be full of dirt & debris. Showers are nice, but not as relaxing as a hot bath. I enjoy both...at different times, for different reasons.

@gmwhit: Sweat, oils, dead skin etc... natural "filth".

I'm with them, a bath can be relaxing but you're basically just sitting in a tub of sweaty water. If I ever soak in a bath (which I almost never do), I still take a quick shower afterward.

It was about three years ago for me too. I bought a foreclosed house that was in pretty bad shape. In the shower, some tiles were missing so I didn't want to get water on the exposed drywall so I took baths for the first few days before I could replace the tile (which I did with surprising success considering I'd never done anything like that before). I'm 6'6" and I had to basically lay on my back with my legs stretched straight up in the air to get my head under the faucet. It was very uncomfortable and I hope to only take baths in larger tubs, preferably with the whirlpool features in the future.

LOL here. I regularly take one bath a year. On xmas eve I do this big spread, so xmas eve afternoon, to relax before the big crush, I take my annual bath!

I remember sharing a Jacuzzi tub in a hotel room with a female companion a few years back. Does that count?

@kmeltzer: I hear you on that one! My wife insisted on a corner jacuzzi in our house that we had built and moved into 15 months ago; I could count using both hands and maybe with a FINGER left over the number of times that it has been used...none by me.

I just took one last week, I've been having a lot of kidney stone pain recently and something about the hot water helps ease the pain and makes me relax so I'm not so tense from it.

I don't consider it filth, my tub is clean and I'm clean before I get in it, it's not like I'm taking a dump while I'm in there. Really guys a bath is just a bath unless you don't clean your tub often, some of you make it sound like it's pond water where cows wallow in it or something. I shower daily, and my one tub in the house is for soaking, and it's cleaned afterward. I would never take a bath at a hotel though, I don't know who's been in there and apparently there are some pretty nasty people out there.

Took one a few months ago. Showered first, wiped down the tub, then added epsom salt to ease joint pain, and jajoba and lavender oil for migraine and dry skin. Worked wonders and really should do it again sometime soon.

I shower every morning. Last bath I took was a couple months back. Hot water and Epsom salt and my iPod. Mmmm so relaxing.
I do a quick shower before the bath to get off most of the dirt and wash my hair.
Might take one this evening now. Sounds nice just thinking about it.

Due to downsizeing and space restrictions, I only have a shower now. It's a nice one, but a shower only. I miss soaking in a tub of scented softeners. Then, after my bath, I would get up and take a quick, rinse off shower. I'm not complaining, it's just a little luxury I can do without, but it was nice to have.
