How do you plan on celebrating the first day of Spring?
Some spring facts and signs of spring http://www.almanac.com/content/first-day-spring-vernal-equinox
I will celebrate by taking full doses of allergy meds and then planting some flowers.
I'll be working.
@mtm2: Sadly, so will I.
It's been in the 70s and 80s for the past couple of weeks and it is dropping back into the low 50's today and tomorrow, may get below freezing tonight, just as all the plants are putting on baby leaves. So I'll spend today snug at work, and tonight hoping the temps stay up warm enough not to hurt the plants. We had a catastrophic freeze in February last year that did millions in damage to commercial and public landscaping and no one can guess how much damage to private yards and gardens. Many small plants died and a lot of the big ones are still struggling this spring, so we can't afford a freeze right now. We already lost just about all our palm trees and all the barrel cacti. Oleanders, that unkillable toxic shrub that is such a staple of desert landscaping, are failing all over town. I am pretty sure two of my trees died over the winter. I am worried for my remaining trees.
I am going to go backpacking in the snow!!
Been having a pre-party for about 2 weeks, bbqing everyday!
It's been in the 70's and 80's here as well. But since November, with exception about about 8 days total. 60's at night. It sucks. We got ripped on our winter this year...
I'll celebrate by going swimming I guess.
I would have gone hammocking, or played some frisbee or something, but we just got a HUGE snow storm last night! ...after all the spring rain...
Gonna celebrate spring with a crazy little thing called... working inside.
But spring (or early summer) came to Iowa a week ago.
@firebirdude: The winter was more like early spring here too.
Bring out the GRILL and have a friends over for a BBQ
And start wearing shorts
Stuffing my face with Sudafed or some other allergy drugs. I live in Florida, so it's already started quite some time ago for me...
Food Day at the office. Not much, but better than nothing.
What is this win-tar and espring that you speak of? The weather in Miami is always the same. Hot and humid.
(Just like your mom! ZING!)
Putting up my spring window clingies... and taking down my st. patrick's day window clingies.
I'll be at work apparently watching the 100% chance of rain and flash floods.
