I did not know that, thanks. I still have an old vinyl collection.
I always think of the episode of "Everybody Loves Raymond" when I listen to them. It is not about the sound quality, but the scratches you pick up along the way.
Somewhat profound.

Time to pick up that vinyl copy of lady gaga I've been looking for :)

i've looked for vynle for a long time. there are a lot of what i listen to that simply aren't available on cd, or mp3. i tried looking to see if any had liberated a copy of certain stuff on the web but can't find any. in my area there are no vynle stores so it's go to all the resale stores and dig thru there 4 of 5 milkcrates to be disappointed at only finding 80's stuff.

(looking for specific homer and jethro stuff)

It's 7:30 in the morning on a saturday and I'm awake (this usually doesn't happen unless I have to work). I'm trying to buy this before I head off to the record stores.

I'm on my way to Ameoba in LA with a hundred dollars to spend. I love record store day, dare I say it is better than christmas? Almost.

If I get a break at some point today I would like to. I really want one of the Grace Potter cd's.
But I don't see it happening. Work then all afternoon concert.

Wish I could, but I don't know of any independent record stores around here. And I don't have time to go into the city (Chicago) today. One of my favorite things to do when I worked downtown was to go to Rose Records and waste my lunch hour wandering that store -- many floors of awesomeness! Ah, the good old days...

Interesting, but I think I already have too much final and don't even have a turntable anymore.

I was excited to find out a local record store was participating this year (none did last year), but none of the special releases today have me interested.

The ones in the UK, however, I would have been first in line for.

There is a list of participating stores here: www.recordstoreday.com

I really really want to. There's a few records I'm interested in, particularly the limited edition Refused album and the Flaming Lips LPs.

I have a ton of work to do though, and the closest RSD store is a half hour away. I don't know if I can justify a two hour plus break, sadly.

I showed my daughter a 45 single record once. Based on the shape, she said it was a CD. With that, I realized how old I am.

It's been a long time since I've bought new vinyl, but it'd be hard for me to part with what I have.

I bought the Leonard Cohen live 12" and the Fun. die-cut 10", as well as the Joey Ramone and Jimmy Fallon 7" singles. If anyone needs anything in particular, I may be able to get them--PM me.

@klynb: I forgot to add - per local record store rules, I won't be able to buy duplicates until Tuesday.
