I will more than likely work until 2am. In the rare case that I have to open instead of close I'll wear a costume to work. Afterwards Brian is handing out candy at the house and then after I might go to a party but Brian'll have to work in the morning.

Nope and nope. Bah humbug... No wait, wrong holiday!! Ah well, same result.

@holymythos: Do you know if the parties in your area are happening on Halloween (which is a Monday this year) or will they be celebrating Friday/Saturday?

@ohcheri: Couldn't tell you. I don't go to big parties; only ones that my friends make up. Two years ago I went to a big halloween party and it was horrible. The house across the street was charging $10 cover. There was about 300 people in the house (not joking, small house) and there were waitresses walking around with shot cups. In the basement they had naked women wrestling in jello with some loud music.

I got pulled into the house because my friend is the most reckless person on the planet and I had to look after her. Because, you know, I don't get paid for this >.> It was like I got trapped in the scum center of the planet. Never again.

@holymythos: My sympathy...terrible situation, eh? And to think the girls in the basement weren't even wearing costumes! Not very Halloweenish.

@holymythos: Ugh, doesn't sound like my kind of party either. Hopefully your friend appreciates you looking after her!

No Party for me...
Also working 'til late at night...
Must remember to leave all of the house lights off...

My roommates are having a party at my place so I have no choice...

@journeyloaded: Let me know if you need a costume :-)

@hobbitss: Not unless it contained large pieces of sliced bananas & whole marshmellows that were strategically placed. ...Actually, no, it doesn't count.

@ohcheri: I do need a costume for work, though. It has to be "appropriate". I don't know if you do mens apparel (since I've never visited your deals and I'm a man :P) but if you did I'd love to take a look :) Anything to support a fellow dealer!

Yup. We loot candy and drink competitively. Oh, and terrorize children. All in costume though, so it's perfectly acceptable.

@holymythos: WHERE IS THAT HOUSE? I must go.

My wife's boss throws a haloween party every year in their barn. They usually have a DJ come out with a huge sound system. It's always theamed and there are always great decorations. The costumes are usually all very nice. Everyone puts a lot of thought into them which makes it more fun. My wife and I enjoy it every year.

Unfortunately the boss's husband has decided he doesn't want to have one this year :( Boo

Before this, we had never been to halloween partys, and probably wont go to another.

Oh yeah, they always had it the weekend before Halloween. So, this year it would have been on the 22nd.

@holymythos: Yes, we have men's costumes. Unfortunately my site is down right now (thanks again, 1and1!) but I'll send you a link when I can access the store.

@bogie21: Do you think the cancellation of the party has anything to do with the economy? It seems like a logical cut to make if people aren't doing real well financially.

On Halloween day we wear costumes at work (City Hall). The Parks Department has a party at lunch and gives out prizes for the best costumes. On Halloween night I used to decorate the house and give out treat bags with candy and stuff lie rings and pencils in them, but I was the only house on the block that participated so the kids quit coming and went to a neighborhood that is more into the spirit. During the month of October I run my horror campaign for my role-playing group and the run climaxes on the Friday before Halloween. I decorate and have themed treats that night, so it's sort of a party. Halloween is my favorite holiday, both in the modern sense and in the original pagan sense.

@moondrake: Wow, that sounds like so much fun! I have always been a big fan of Halloween, my birthday is a couple of days before and my mom always did a horror themed birthday party for me (when I was much younger).
