"better" requires a closer definiton - better at asking silly questions, better at voting things up without even reading, or better at quality over quantity or the other way around. The way things work, I don't think the leaderboard means an awful lot. Do I look at it? Sure. Do I take it terribly seriously? NO Is it all somewhat of a game or a real endeavor, and how does one define how the leaderboard does what it does? or doesn't?
When I think gender --I think there are a greater number of young twenty-thirty-forty men than women. Love to see the opinions put forth.

There are only 3 people here (2 female/1 male). The rest of us are bots.

@klozitshoper: According to Alexa you are right on with your demographics:

And, like we all know already, most of them are browsing while at work :-)

i think i'm a grown woman. i'll let you know when i take a shower and look down

I think that there are more women over on the community side of deals, but apparently more men overall.
I am of this category: ♂

@ohcheri: That's a great site, I wonder how they gather their data?

@armagedon: That's what I was thinking too.

@klozitshoper: I am still pretty new to things around here, the reason I brought up the leaderboard is because I figured on any given day it would seem to represent the more active users of the site, not because I necessarily place much stock in it. And having been on this site for about a year I have started to get curious as to who is posting/responding to deals and driving the site. I've always figured the bacon clothing and crab deals are posted by a predominately male group, but in reading comments and question responses I had also noticed a very active group of female posters (as near as I can tell), which surprised me, and I started to wonder if deals.woot was more balanced in terms of gender than most of the internet is, or even that it might have a slightly larger female audience.

@belowi: i think it is more balanced than other internet sites, or at least we ladies feel more comfortable in contributing. the staff/mods make sure we don't get lots of the unpleasantness of some other sites.
for example, i saw a "make me a sandwich" comment deleted one time. lol

also the unifying theme is good deals, so you can post whatever you find that's good in YOUR opinion. guys can vote on stuff they'd get their ladies and vice versa

there is another site i post on for current event type stuff and i happen to have a gender neutral username. but my posts are completely "one of the boys" back and forths. it's fun and easier that way to blend in and not get called out for "wanting attention" for being a girl

It's the internet, I can be anything I want.

@w00tgurl: What are you doing out of the kitchen? Make me a sandwich. I'm a helpless twit who has not evolved and I spout from my mouth, because my other parts don't work.
I drool too.
Wedit.

@drunkcajun: uh, skip the church thing. i've been burned. twice.

OT - and, i would love a sandwich, but the ladies at church are making bbq for father's day lunch. i know of tri-tip & pulled pork (so far). i will let you all know after i have come home from church, lunch, & the shooting range.

@rlapid2112: Burned twice at church? Are you a witch or a demon?

vote-for3vote-against

@gatzby: Demons are cast out and witches are thrown in water. If she floats and weighed the same as a duck, she's made of wood. And therefore, a witch!

The conspiracy theory side of me tends to think you're all bots...It also leads me to believe the government is on the way to my house...I better put on my tinfoil hat and hide the corner in the fetal position. Oh and I'm a guy for those that care.
