I love my New Balance 610's. They're tough, extremely comfortable, good looking, and best of all, cheap.

@mookie311: It's funny you bring up the original Sambas. I have had a few pairs over the last 15 years. I'm in need of a new pair. They're so comfortable, but nothing looks awesome like a worn out pair.

@capguncowboy: amen. i had one pair i wore until they were literally coming apart. i got a sock full of water every time i stepped into a puddle and i had multiple friends begging me to buy new ones.

they're comfortable from the jump, but after the first month or so when you break them in, it's like wearing slippers all day.

I think you a verb in your question, but I'm sure staff will it.

More on-point, I've repurchased http://www.skechers.com/style/76690/work-felix-keystone/blk. They're cheap and comfortable, and they look nice enough to be an everyday-wear shoe (they're plain).

@chris12345: WOW. i sure did miss a verb.

I love Born shoes. I have some that I would love to replace with the same style, but it is discontinued. However, I will continue to buy this brand because they are super comfortable and they last a long time and continue to look presentable.

Birks. Underfoot they're all essentially the same. I have 3-4 pairs in rotation at any one time, to stretch their lifespans. Husband calls me Imelda because I do own a lot of Birks, but it's a collection I've amassed over 20+ years...theoretically I don't need to buy shoes again in this lifetime :D

I had a pair of Sketchers sandals that I adored - fit my feet perfectly and each pair lasted until I'd worn them to the point the rubber was falling off the bottom. Name was 'Expose', they quit making them a year or two back. I haven't found a pair of sandals as comfortable since. :/

Land's End Weatherfield shoes. Worn 'em in various morphs of the design and name for about 10 years now. In winter, than is. Summer is for flip-flops.

vote-for3vote-against

@alpayton: I came here to say Borns. Best shoes ever.

vote-for2vote-against

i love my borns and my rockports!

Vans skate shoes - not the canvas. There's an outlet by my mom's and I can score multiple pairs for less than $30/each - they last me years.

And the new one that I will keep buying - rope sandals from nomadicstateofmind.com

I wear black Response Gear steel toe patrol boots for work that I buy for about $25 a pair on sale at Big 5 Sporting Goods. I will buy 2 pair at a time and they will last about a year each. I know some guys like to spend a couple of hundred dollars for a pair...

I love the feeling of putting on a fresh pair of Chuck Taylor's. I wear them out at the rate of about a pair every two years.

vote-for2vote-against

I have bought the same pair of steel toed work boots for the last... 5-6 years. They are the only ones at the local Walmart that fit with any sort of comfort, and I need steel toe.. or I did. It helped when the kids and students stood on them, or when kicking desks. :) Little kids, I have found, love to stand on anything that makes them slightly taller, so protection was great.

I have been wearing Merrel shoes for 7 years now. I have not found a more comfortable shoe. The are like wearing bedroom slippers all day.

Pumas. I buy them in any color from black to purple with sky blue laces. Just fit my feet perfectly. I also used to have a series of Roo's but I can't find any that are made of more than one color anymore =(
I also miss the Roos line called "Sox" or Socks or something? Where did they all go?!

Chacos. They were the hardest shoe to break in (I'm talking massive blisters and ouchiness here) but now that they're broken in, they're easily the best pair of shoes I've ever owned. I have some foot/stride problems and the Chacos correct those problems. I went from wearing ankle braces and taping my feet up to just be able to walk or limp around to being able to walk several miles without complaint.

I'm planning on wearing them until it starts snowing, and then I'll still probably keep wearing them. The $100 pricetag is a bit steep for me, but they'll last me 5 years or more.

Adidas Supernova Classic - They keep getting brought back from the dead too. Adidas keeps discontinuing them and the running community has such an uproar (and doesn't buy the replacements very well) that they bring them back. It's apparently happened twice now.

Anyway, I'm on my ... 8 or 9th pair.

Doc Martens; been wearing them for about 20 years now.
I tend to stick to the classic 3 eyed black shoe, but I have bought the boots from time to time as well.

My go-to shoes: Dansko Professional clogs nine months of the year, Birkenstock Gizeh thongs the other three. Both models have been around for a while (and come in a rainbow of colors), so I must have a lot of company!

30 some pairs and 22 years later, i live in my firefighter duty boots :)

I have had a pair of sambas at almost all times since I was 8. I think I probably am on my 13th or 14th pair at this point.

I've had a pair of Trotters loafers for 40 years. Not the same pair, but when one wore out, I'd get another one. White when that was in style, now bone.

New Balance 406, all-black.

Comes in my width and fits perfectly, plus I only wear black walking shoes so I never have to worry about stains or scuffs. I have started on my 3rd pair. Actually, I need to clarify--I started on the left shoe of my 3rd pair a few months ago and only recently needed to replace the right one. It's great buying the same shoes over and over again, or in my case, buying 4 pairs at one time and saving them up.

I am also on my 3rd pair of Adidas SSG2 slide sandals/out of 5 that I purchased at the same time.

Keen Newport Sandals...wear em all year round, with socks when it goes below freezing...change to boots with an inch of snow. By the way they also float if you fall off a boat dock like I did last year.

Converse Hi-tops. Bright Red. I've owned/worn those bad boys for +8 years

I always used to favor Nike Air Pegasus, mostly for running but they are great as an everyday shoe as well. They were the original Bill Bowerman/ waffle iron shoes, and the new version is a kickass combination of stability, cushioning, pronation control and price. I have owned probably about 8 or 9 pairs of them over the years.

vote-for2vote-against

I'm on my third pair of black Merrell Jungle Moc Nubuck's

vote-for2vote-against

I have worn Red Wing work boots for 30+ years. Since my size is uncommon (13AA) I have to order them, but their fit and comfort is excellent. And they have a special sole that is designed for concrete floors. After work, I wear the cheap Kmart/Walmart sneakers and slippers.
I have worn Converse Chucks and Crocs, but cannot get them narrow enough and they give me plantar's warts on the soles of my feet.

vote-for2vote-against

I've been buying the Addidas SuperStar shell toe in different colors for at least 10 years.

vote-for2vote-against

Vans Old Skool! (That's how it's spelled) I have so many different colors. I've been wearing them for at least 15 years now. I loooove them.

vote-for2vote-against

My favorite everyday shoes are Magnum Midnights. They are an all black ankle-height lug sole boot, made for EMT/police-type use. I'm on my third pair in 8 or 9 years -- they hold up incredibly well.

I have a pair of Danner 8" lace-up work boots that I have been wearing around my farm for 12 years. They are pretty scuffed up, but the Gore-tex liner is still water tight and they are still comfortable. If they ever do wear out I'll buy another pair.

vote-for1vote-against

i bought some imitation birkenstocks at Kmart one time and i swear they were THE most comfortable pair of shoes i've ever owned. they literally formed to my feet, cuz the bottom part that my feet rested on was cork. i had them for years and only trashed them once the strap broke but i'd buy those again and again if i could. i guess if birkenstocks were still popular enough to bootleg.
a friend of mine only buys the skechers that look like a sneaker/casual work shoe hybrid. the ones with the stripes on the side
also my go-to style for work is called menswear, or oxford style. as long as it's oxford with heels, i want it for work! in gray, black, or brown please

Adidas Superstar 2g's. those are my favorite shoes, I've been wearing them for 10 years at least. I just bought 2 pair for the deal below, I love them so much.

I've bought many pairs of Sketchers in the past decade. I have big and "triangular" feet that are wide at the first knuckle of my toes. Sketchers are the only brand that feels right off-the-shelf without having to delve into wide sizes. Wide sizes will fit, sure, they but let my heels slip too much.

It seems there's quite a few people with picky feet who discover and then stick to Sketchers.
