Online social games? I like pointing out people's stupidity.
I also like instigating online arguments between other people.

I play Starcraft 2, Team Fortress 2, and still play Guild Wars. Don't actually get much time for gaming anymore though.

The only social media I use is Facebook (too much), but I don't play any of the games. Decided early on that I know better than to get obsessed with maintaining an imaginary farm or feeding a fictional pet so it doesn't die. I'm OCD-ish and I am better just to stay away. I have enough to do keeping up with the real people in my life.

@tw1nky: lol....you and I have different definitions of "not much time" if you are playing 3 different games still.

I play Draw Something and Words with Friends with my sister and her daughters that live in another state....it is just a way to keep in touch at a turn per day.

I do a few games on my phone. WWF, SWF, etc. A couple others. I almost never play anything else online anymore these days. I've got plenty of games on my PS3 that can go online, but I like the story better typically.

FPS's online suck, in my opinion. I'm average at best with FPS's, so I get destroyed online. Not a whole lot of fun, nor is there much room to learn to improve if you're sniped/ noobtubed within 5 seconds of spawning. But so it goes!

EDIT: I hate it when games force a social aspect on you. Like games that say "you need this many in-game friends to progress!"

Before the govt made it illegal in the US, I played online Poker. Still play the free crap online occasionally.

I am totally hooked on Words with Friends on FB. I've been a Scrabble fan forever.

@tw1nky: I'm with you on TF2. Thats about the only game I play socially. I don't waste my time with farmvilles and stuff like that. Which reminds me this friday we'll probably be playing TF2 at 9PM woot time.

None. I'm really not much fun.

There has been some downtime at work recently. I discovered "8 Ball Multiplayer Pool" on Google Plus. It's pretty cool - you play people from all over the world.

Ha! It was quite slow last week. I played 137 games....

There is this one game, it's called " Pay Your Bills Online".
I hate it, I always loose

OK It's been about a day, and I am surprised that more answers were not voted upon... oh well... To answer my own question:

I started playing a new game that I downloaded for my phone some months ago (about 6-7 months I think) and was not aware when I started it of the social aspect attached to the game. I have since met many digital people and had many interesting conversations. Some of them even have little games within the game that are pretty interesting. I would never have started it if I had been aware of the social aspect, but it turned out pretty good in my case.
I also participate in STEAM, have a couple people I know, but not people I play games with (yet). And there are a couple of other multi-player games that I have played, usually of the RPG type. Most of them have forums relating to the game, and sometimes you can find interesting conversations there also (really depends on the type of game though).

This is a bit late and no one will probably read this but I definitely don't regularly play any games, but if I have some free time I will likely boot one of those games up.

But now that I this not really even true because I've actually been playing minecraft when I can and haven't touched those games in a while :/

Hey,
Well I love playing Plant v/s Zombie, when it comes to social games, as I am a big follower of zombie games and consider them more fun to play than any other kind of games. Besides this I have played some other cool zombie games like
Days to Die
Dead Zed and
Zombotron at http://bgames.com/zombie-games
