Do people down vote deals just because they don't like the product even if it's a good deal?

I have noticed some deals get down votes for even if they are good deals (sports cards, cigars, etc). Do some people down vote those deals for no reason other than they object to the product itself?

Typically if I dont like an item I just keep scrolling. I only down vote obviously bad deals.

They may be voting them for a number a reasons. Hate the product, not a good deal, hate the site/dealer.
I only downvote if I feel it is a bad deal or there is a problem with the post. Other than that it's upvote or skip.

Some folks just have a serious case of the crabbypants. My view on deals is one man's crap deal is another man's bonanza of bounty. I vote on what I like & what I know may be a great deal. Otherwise, if I don't know, I ignore them.

Geez, why so negative?

You have to vote up more before you can vote down.

Don't get us wrong. Negativity has its place. And downvotes are just as essential as upvotes when it comes to making Deals.Woot a useful place to find deals.

But when your votes lean so heavily toward the dark side, we have to wonder. Go vote up a few things. Accentuate the positive for a little while. It'll do you some good, and it'll do the site some good, too. Then you can get back to dealing out the smackdowns, OK?
