@jseureau: And what's up with the future-ads.com thing? It's the same joke they tried to pull with their last set of "contests" to get "free stuff". And now they're trying to get you to do it to complete your order? What a joke!
They do have a FB page, maybe some posts their to let their other "fans" know of their shady operation wouldn't be a bad thing... just sayin'

What's up drchops!

Guys this wasn't a regular purchase, Justin failed to mention the most important fact about his order(please correct if i'm wrong @jseureau) He was promised an [ Apple MacBook Air MC965LL/A 13" Laptop ] for $750 when it was listed on our website for $999.99 He was 'promised' this by: Christina (Yes she's no longer with us. No... not because she committed suicide, nice one @90mcg112) but because she was making these kinds of deals without authorization. I first became aware of this entire ordeal with Justin's order, which came thru for: again, $999.99 but his card was only charged $750

Anyways, after loosing thousands of dollars because of what Christina was doing, I didn't feel the need to fulfill Justin's order, but rather: Issue a full refund.

(Did I miss anything @jseureau?)

@onecco: But what's up with sending it now? And trying to charge him more than $100 for shipping? And only doing this because he's letting people know of how you're running your business? And really what's up with the future-ads.com thing? Why make him do more (connect to some alleged scam?) than pay you the agreed amount?
And, you just told us that he "failed to mention the most important fact" - which is what? That he was promised something and it wasn't fulfilled?

You're running a business. You have customers (or had), treat them fairly and don't scam them.

vote-for4vote-against

@onecco: Plus, what does @drchops have anything to do with it?

vote-for4vote-against

@onecco why was I mentioned in your post? Sheesh

vote-for8vote-against

I feel a great swell in the internet's anger.

vote-for9vote-against

@onecco: He was promised something. He should get it. Period. You eat the loss.

You say it was being done unauthorized, so how would any of us know if what one of your employees offers us is "authorized"? Seems you handled this poorly, which is a greater statement than a good deal.

vote-for-11vote-against

@luvche21: He called me, we spoke, what can I say my heart was broken.
NO we didn't charge him for One-Day Shipping! That's just how much we paid to get it out to him this Sat.

vote-for-11vote-against

@luvche21: Had customers? If only you knew.

vote-for9vote-against

@onecco: I don't know the entire story, but from reading thorugh this thread I can come to several conclusions.

1. You mention you lost $25K several times. The problem is, how come you did not catch this earlier?
2. I'm not saying you have to fulfill the order, but Christina was your employee. It sounds like the card was charged and the money was deducted, not just an authorization placed on the card.
3. The editing reviews and future-ads thing was weird.

If this was truly an employee making a deal that should not have been made, you really need to watch your employee's better.

People here are callous against this type of activity since this has happened with several other "retailers". The editing reviews and future-ads thing I think is the worst part.

vote-for-13vote-against

@kmeltzer: Yes, unauthorized.
Employees here are only allowed to give out coupon/gift codes.

vote-for-11vote-against

@hackman2007: Usually she would update the price online and then charge the entire amount of the order, I only saw this because the listed price was $1k, and saw the huge discrepancy in actual charge.

No one told him to edit his reviews, only to post an update.

vote-for-10vote-against

@linuxtrance: Because you're Lengen. Wait for it....

vote-for7vote-against

@onecco: From an older post: "1. Edit those beautiful reviews you just posted. Now! & After you receive the MacBook, of course. "

::popping popcorn, canceling day's appointments::

vote-for4vote-against

@onecco: Oh, lordy. Someone's been doing some research

vote-for7vote-against

@onecco: Justin,
You asked what you can do to complete this transaction.
Here it is:
1. Edit those beautiful reviews you just posted. Now! & After you receive the MacBook, of course.
2. Go to future-ads.com - sign up for these two FREE trials: stamps.com & doba (please cancel the trials before 30days so you don't get charged by them)

Carlos

you shouldn't lie when I can go back to another page and copy paste what you sent.

vote-for6vote-against

@onecco: Also, another question is, why didn't your bookkeeping catch 25k missing any sooner? I wouldn't fire that employee, I'd fire your accountant. I'm sure the IRS will become very interested in that stuff too.

vote-for-12vote-against

@hackman2007: It was meant to be more of an update now, and after he received it. Try going over it again.

vote-for7vote-against

This is why I love DW, ruthless, lol.

shares some popcorn with @brandie346

vote-for5vote-against

@onecco: If this was a posted policy and she knew about it, you might check to see if there is any legal recourse you can take against her.

vote-for7vote-against

@onecco: You said to complete his TRANSACTION he had to do that stuff. It sounds more like you're holding his order hostage instead of holding up your end of the bargain.

vote-for-9vote-against

@figgers3036: #1 It was meant to be more of an update now, and after he received it. Try going over it again.

#2 That's for me to know

vote-for11vote-against

@onecco: In the future, I would suggest instead of writing what Carlos wrote: "Once your receive the laptop, please post an update to the reviews. As always, you are not required to post an update, but we would greatly appreciate it"

With that said, I can see how that could be misinterpreted.

vote-for-8vote-against

@linuxtrance: Legendary! Because your Legendary!

vote-for6vote-against

@linuxtrance: Haha, I was thinking the same thing? Ruthless is one word that describes us. Can I have some popcorn too? This is great!

vote-for4vote-against

@onecco: Again, you eat it. Or, you make the employee cover the loss.

But, not only did you lose a customer, you likely lost many other over what's really a little amount of money. Your motto is obviously not "Customer First".

vote-for4vote-against

@onecco: "Had customers? If only you knew."
Oh, I bet you've got customers from elsewhere, but you sure just lost a whole lot of ever potential ones.

vote-for-18vote-against

@kmeltzer: Thanks for letting me know how to run my Company!
Customer First?

I just had an epiphany!

vote-for-4vote-against

@luvche21: We are gonna need some more popcorn!

vote-for17vote-against

@onecco: In the nicest possible way, I'm wondering if English is your first language. If not, then that might explain why you don't see why what you wrote is unacceptable business practice. You wrote that to complete his transaction, which most people mean is 'get the stuff I paid you for', he needs to edit reviews. That is unacceptable.

And I'm not sure with your "#2 That's for me to know" nonsense. You're forcing this guy, to complete his transaction, to sign up for garbage stuff. How in any way is that ethical?

You are scum. You should be ashamed of yourself for what you are forcing people to do once you have their money. You are a thief for keeping this guy's money while not giving him what he paid for. You are a con artist that deserves nothing but derision. You are part of what's wrong with the world, and you have no business running any sort of shop.

vote-for6vote-against

Holy snikeys....this thread is going bananas. @brandie321 make some more popcorn STAT!

This thread is going downhill fast, lmao

vote-for7vote-against

My popcorn must be bad, I just lost 25 points.

vote-for5vote-against

I've noticed I still haven't gotten an answer about why your bookkeeping is so bad.

Nice glossing over that question.

vote-for4vote-against

@linuxtrance: I haven't heard (or read) any one say "holy snikeys" in ages! Haha thanks!

vote-for6vote-against

@figgers3036: His bookkeeping or lack thereof is irrelevant to this conversation. His internal controls, (again, or lack thereof) may be relevant, but still, the issue at hand is whether his customer is made whole or not.

And the IRS isn't going to care; if anything, his revenues will be overstated.

vote-for5vote-against

@luvche21 You need to watch more hockey. Darren Pang says it all. the. time. Loudly.

vote-for4vote-against

@onecco: Well, looks like you need someone to tell you how. Based on this, you don't.

The fact that you just lost quite a few potential customers and one actual customer, well... good luck!

vote-for-8vote-against

@figgers3036: Yes, you we're very nice. Thank you for that statement.

Bookkeeping? I don't know the meaning of the word.

vote-for5vote-against

@dcalotta: Bad bookkeeping raises red flags with the IRS, and they'll start taking closer looks. Whether or not they find anything is irrelevant, it's still a lot of time lost at the very least.

I'd argue that his poor bookkeeping is only relevant because he's made it so by mentioning time and time again how much he's lost due to some employee. Most small time employers are watching things like that like hawks to make sure everything's on the up and up, and would definitely notice 25k going missing. Profit margins are thin enough as it is, so even ten thousand will get noticed when that's 10%+ out the window.

But you're right about the primary focus being on this guy harming his customers. I can only hope the OP is made whole.

vote-for5vote-against

And with a loud boom, then silence, @onecco has now faded gently into the night.

edit nope, got ahead of myself...he's still jabbering away.

vote-for8vote-against

@onecco: You failed to mention anything about signing up for trial sites (which I am sure you get a kickback from), trying to verify he was a student, the lack of shipping options (seriously just two? and both over $100).

If she didn't have authorization to perform such deals why wasn't someone watching her in the first place? Seems odd to let a new employee do as they wish without any sort of person above them watching their actions, like severely undercutting.

Also, why did she have the means to perform such deals in the first place? Edit them as she wished, and charge less? It seems like a lesser employee shouldn't have that kind of ability. Best Buy employees for example have to call over a manager to perform any kind of price matching, and the manager chooses to accept or reject the price match.

vote-for11vote-against

I'm wondering if someone has hacked @onecco and is posting these idiotic remarks. Because there's no way that someone running a business would speak to customers like this if they intended for their company to last more than a week. Truly amazing.

vote-for4vote-against

@onecco: Ooh, fancy, anyone I know?
@pxb006: lol, yeah....seems crazy tbh
