I haven't played Tank Superiority yet, but I've been pretty disappointed in the Armored Kill maps as conquest. They seem to be huge, have a lot of air power, and only a handful of tank/APC hybrid things. Otherwise, you're probably stuck taking ATVs to the air support point.

actually, i guess i should clarify. i refer to all the expanded maps as Tank Superiority. my bad. so i guess what i like is regular conquest, but on the large maps with all the vehicles. maybe the king of the hill game play i dont like is in fact Tank Superiority, and i need to start looking for conquest games on the big maps.

@gatzby: oh, and i totally get what you're saying about lack of vehicles. there are a huge amount of vehicles compared to the older maps, but there is still a good chance that you wont get in one, and having to leg it 1000 meters to get to flag, just to have a team member capture it before you get there, then running 1200 meters to the next one just to have it change by the tiem you get there is frustrating. if i cant get in a vehicle, i go to one flag and just sit there and guard it. i'm not running all over the map just to miss out on points then die when i get there.

Begin Rant

I bought BF3 on Black Friday for $25 (PC) digital download from Amazon last year. I'm glad that is all I spent. It is a great game, I've had a lot of fun playing it, and I still do occasionally. But just like most new games, you're paying double or even triple for what can be equated to Map Packs that were free for games 5-10 years ago. I refuse to pay $50 or $60 for "premium" content which includes needed game updates, a couple of new maps, and a few weapon and vehicle upgrades. Not to mention EA locked down the game so much that third party mods are not only discouraged, they're illegal to develope.

I played BF1942 for 6 years then BF2 for a couple. The games were always supported, new FREE updates and map packs were developed, and 3d party mods were allowed and encouraged. Now, instead of the game just having a new update released every now and then, you have to pay $60+ a year down the road for the next "new" game. (Which is nothing new!)

@eraten: trust me dude, you're preaching to the choir. i love BF3 and can spend hours and hours playing and never get bored. but i straight up refused to pay $50 for an "update". thats teh same price as a new game, and no doubt, a complete and total rip off. but i broke down recently because i got a vasectomy and ended up not healing well at all. i had to sit down and ice and not exert myself for a whole week. i ended up buying it out of boredom and desperation to keep my mind off my throbbing nuts :(

and even though charging that much to customers who already paid is BS on the highest scale, i'm definitely having a whole lot of fun with the new maps and toys.

I gave up after the single player was the most glitched FPS game I've played since Beta Testing Counter-Strike.

It's too bad too because the game looked great, but the story was lacking. If the multiplayer version has less issues, I'd be willing to give it a shot

@capguncowboy: dunno about single player stuff. i played single player for a couple days way way back when i first got it, but multiplayer is where its at. i dont even remember if i beat the single player mode now that i think about it.

@capguncowboy: Yeah single player was atrocious. It was something they spent about 2 days throwing together to try & appeal to the non-networked Console games. Mulitplayer is where it is at, and the only place EA should ever go with the Battlefield series. The AI is terrible, it is basically just like walking through a very scripted movie. I tested out rushing and jumping through a line of "enemies" and they didn't stop to persue me, or even turn around to fire at me. That never bothered me, since the game should only be played in multiplayer.

@eraten: agreed, you dont buy this game for the single player. in fact, i'd rather the next one not have single player, and just include more maps and goodies from the start instead of charging us later on down the line.

Not the best, but I hold my own (when I'm not drinking)

TS is fun, if you have at least one teammate to work with you. Sucks to try and play alone.
I prefer TDM or TDMMC. Conquest is a blast if you have a team.

Feel free to add/join me. Always need friends on the Battlefield.
