Missed it. Does not look like many were sold though.

vote-for19vote-against

Meh. The bloom is off the rose for me.

vote-for4vote-against

@hackman2007: How do you know how many were sold? Woot took that statistic away a long time ago.

vote-for5vote-against

Boy, you gotta get up pretty early in the morning to snag a bucket of cats around here. Missed it again.

@cengland0: Look how colorful the sales map is. From previous BOC offerings where a number were sold, the map would be a lot more colorful. Most are still white as well. Sure the west coast might have purchased a ton of them, but honestly doubt more than 100-200 were offered.

vote-for13vote-against

I would say there was probably a minimum of 25 sold.

What number could you use to get 56% >= 25 woots purchaser experience. That would be 14/25. The 25% could be 6/25 and the 20% is 5/25.

There are 14 states that made purchases. 6 represent 1 purchase each (the lightest green), 3 represent 2 purchases each, 3 has 3 each, and 1 has 4 (the darkest green). That is 6 + 6 + 9 + 4 = 25

That was about 4:30am for me, so no, I was trying to pretend I was asleep so the dog and cat would stay down and hopefully I could make it true. Danged insomnia.

I saw it. After 8:00 AM. I saw a new deal category, and started looking. And "Basics (Of Course)" seemed the likely candidate. I was far too late, of course.

What if Woot sold their formerly most sought after item and nobody cared anymore...I think that's what is going on here

vote-for17vote-against

@natedogg828: After having been a member for seven years and having managed to get them into my cart a few times but never all the way out the door, I'd like to get one before woot as we knew it gives it's final death throe and all that is left are shills and sheep.

vote-for10vote-against

@moondrake: I have managed to score a few along the way, the middle ones truly lived up to there name and the last couple have been pretty good. Good luck in getting one some day and hope yours is a good one

vote-for7vote-against

@moondrake: I've managed to get three. The first one was exciting, mostly just because I got it. The second and third were genuinely crappy, although a couple of items were useful at the office March of Dimes "yard sale" tables.

vote-for7vote-against

They were much easier to snag when Woot was young and they showed up randomly at midnight.

vote-for10vote-against

@magic cave: I'll agree there. My last one consisted of two junk plastic watches and a usb "Princess Powder Light". The bag was an infant sized barbie backpack. Not even worth the "thrill" of getting one. The second to last one at least had a few blank shirts I could give away that were comfortable. The first one had some cool stuff in it, which I don't remember.. but I was happy to get it.

I understand that one shan't complain about the crap... but when you are sending actual garbage.. well all I can think of is Mr. Monk sending his doctor his trash during the trash strike. Except here, we paid for it. So yeah, agree with @robingraves

Too late.

@pooflady: Absolutely. My first score was Bag O' Crap II on September 28, 2004. Those were the days...you got actual working crap that Woot! had sold previously, but they only had a few left and so couldn't put them up for an entire day. These days it's 99% dollar-store crap...and not even good dollar store crap. It's like they back the truck up to the dollar store loading dock and say "fill it up with the crap you can't even sell for a buck."

But I'm not bitter. I've scored somewhere in the range of 15 - 20 bags o' crap over the years, and I'm still happy with the ratio of decent crap to bad crap. I don't think I'd ever buy another one though.

vote-for6vote-against

@moondrake : not trying as long as you, but otherwise story is the same. Maybe I'll win the lottery instead LOL

vote-for2vote-against

@moondrake: I scored one a few years back and believe me, it's nothing worth getting excited for. The sheer madness (and subsequent server crashing) that revolves around these is unfounded. Go ahead and look at what people have won.

I'm not saying it's all shit (well, crap) but I draw a similarity to any state lottery (aka idiot tax). Only the big jackpot here is not worth quitting your job for.

@ceagee: Stranger things can happen. Back in the mid-90's I matched 5 of 6 on the Florida Lotto game. In those days the pots were much smaller than they are today, but I got $1700 at a time I pretty desperately needed money. I figure I can indulge my occasional $1/week ticket till I die and still be in the black on winnings.

vote-for4vote-against

@justagigilo85: I always get my $8 worth out of the crap I get. If I don't need it, I either sell it or gift it. My white elephant gifts are legendary around my office. I do agree, however, that the chance to score big keeps me buying.

I've never got a BoC. I've always missed out on it (I can't remember how many times I've been going through checkout, to have the site time out, only to later be told in the final step that it sold out while I was trying to get it.). It used to be a thing to drive people to the site, and people would fight for it. Now, most people don't even know it exists anymore. Recently I was talking to some people, and they thought the BoC was outright killed off. What is the point of doing it, if people aren't aware of it to take part?

vote-for2vote-against

@hellmark: Sssh !
The less wootizens who know the better odds for us poor fools who have yet to score !

vote-for1vote-against

That's pretty crappy. Only sold 12. I check every single night religiously the very minute Woot changes over, at 1:01am ET.
And they were only sold in the first hour. Pretty crappy indeed...
It's been scratched out and saying "back to school" every time I've looked at sellout this week

vote-for3vote-against

@lori2106: According to my calculations (on the 6th comment from the top with the picture of the map), there was a minimum of 25 sold or some combination of 25. I'm pretty sure it's exactly 25 because if it was 50 or more, I would think at least one state would have had a single one sold instead of each state having a minimum of 2.

Anyway, I remember when they sold thousands of them in a couple minutes and that crashed the servers. Now 25 is a joke and not even worth offering. There have been reports of people getting BOC's without ordering them and not knowing why they receive them. Makes me jealous that I cannot even buy one and people are getting them for free.
