@marcoselmalo, so you know. @shrdlu, to add to your collection of disturbing moderation.

I find it offensive that this deal had been so heavily moderated, and that it has now been removed, when the Handjobs! jar opener deal has openly suggestive comments like "I hope someone gives me a handjob for Christmas!" from @mlucechi, "I got eight handjobs for Hannukah" from @michaelcosdon, "I got one last night, you guys will NOT be disapointed!" from @stolly23, and "Little too much friction...does anyone know if these come with lotion, and kleenex?" from @thewootenator

If the mods aren't even going to PRETEND to be consistent, I'm going to start reporting this to the abuse channels at Amazon.

Because we don't allow lube on the site? ;)

@thefenst: I appreciate that you are trying to be light, but I'm quite serious, both in my being offended and in my sincerity to begin reporting the behavior of the mods upwards. You might want to offer a serious response.

Have you ever considered decaf? This is a website for finding good deals for crying out loud. If you are finding anything here to be seriously offended about then you really need to take a step back and evaluate things.

Woot has decided to not allow gun deals - no explaination but that it's now their policy. So maybe anything gun connected is outlawed as well.

None that we can tell. We are looking into it.

All told.

@mtm2: Strange, I thought I'd seen a number of deals for holsters, etc. I seem to recall someone asking earlier for some sort of feedback on rejected deals. This sounds like a good instance where that would be helpful.

Ok. I've re-posted the MPT Gun Grease deal WITH the preferred product description that I painstakingly added to the original @marcoselmalo post last night.

All told.

@dosquatch: I somehow have a feeling the one who removed it didn't even look at the deal. Maybe they only saw the double entendre. sigh.

@jumbowoot: "We are looking into it."

Thank you, Jay, sincerely.

I'm not looking to be offended, but there's been some issues that I and others have been trying to drive to the surface. I have reason to believe the effort may not be fruitless, and soon over - none too soon.

@jumbowoot: "Ok. I've re-posted the MPT Gun Grease deal"

And again, thank you sincerely :o) I'll behave.

@diehardferret: There's the rub. I removed all of that in the original post to make a point about what we prefer for a product description.

I wasn't happy about the editing by jumbo, but it was instructive. Now that I have a clearer idea of the limitations, I'll try my best to both comply and see what I can get away with. :)

The one good thing about butting heads with woot staff over all this is that my pointy corners are getting rounded down and smoothed.

@publiclurker: I asked last week and was told they will no longer allow gun deals. Gun cleaning kits, holsters, etc. seem ok, just no actual weapons.

vote-for2vote-against

no gun deals now? what is happening to woot?

is all of that seattle rain at amazon headquarters clouding your vision so you can no longer read constitutional amendments? i understand it's your site and you can decide which deals are posted, but why restrict gun deals when there are already appropriate measures in place to prevent the sale of guns to inappropriate parties??

vote-for3vote-against

@mtm2: Hmm, I guess it applies to just firearms considering they had a crossbow on the sponsored deals like last week. (maybe they considered it a 'toy') And that you didn't really need a permit to carry it - but i think brandishing a weapon in public is in general borderline illegal.
