2nd Worst Cyber Monday Ever? Where are the deals?
Second year in a row..... No deals that made me say WOW!
I have ordered one thing today, a new fancy-smancy bowl for my cat. Talk about underwhelming....
Where's the deal? Where's the money? Call me broke.
Cyber Monday is a Hoax, it's never been great in my experiance. I did buy a kindle fire today for my girlfriend though.
Experience either.
With reference to Amazon, about two years ago I remember clicking the (“Add to Cart”) button repeatedly during the “countdown” to capture an Amazon deal and being justly rewarded with a 20-60% off find. This year it seems that I broke my index finger to save 10%. Amazon began collecting taxes in 2012 for my state, so I effectually saved 2-4% about 5 times over the last week. So yeah...it kinda stunk.
So, I just posted my pseudo-rant and stumbled across this article from AP:

Record year for Cyber Monday. Shows how much I know....
@bbdickso1: Says "expected." Doesn't say "was." Let's wait for the final results.
@magic cave: Also it's the news, they are known to stretch the truth.
I 100% agree. I was looking for a small 32" TV for my bar since Black Friday started.... last Wednesday. Something that wasn't some knock-off POS; under $200 was my goal. That was all I was looking for and didn't find one deal this entire week. Most of the TV "deals" I saw today either matched, or were worse than deals posted on DW throughout the year.
IMHO Black Friday/Cyber Monday is just another sales gimmick. We only think we're getting a great deal, but in all honesty we're still getting taken to the cleaners. If it wasn't for me searching DW and seeing the history of better deals, I probably would have gotten ripped off today.
I've nothing more to add except that I'm underwhelmed.
NO BACON COFFIN?!? WORST CYBER MONDAY EVER!!!!!!11

Cyber Monday is a joke. The best online deals are on Thanksgiving Day and early morning on Black Friday. (And in some cases Wednesday night leading up to Thanksgiving.) Cyber Monday is just a marketing gimmick to try to fool people into thinking they are getting a great deal, when they're really getting average/mediocre deals at best.
@djp519: thank you sir. i will try to remember that for at least 359 days
@j5: Seconded.
:::sad face:::
120GB SSD for $50. That's it.
Amazon's month long sale last year had a lot of very good items, I thought. I spent way more than I should have then, anyway. This year, I didn't see much worthwhile at all, although it seems they may have just hidden some good deals within the stunning volume of absolute garbage. I stopped bothering with it too much after the first day.
Cyber Monday? Never existed. I remember when they invented the supposed sale day; it was only four or five years ago at best. Retailers were frothing at the mouth to double dip the poor saps who were lining around their B&M stores at 3 AM on Black Friday. As with Black Friday, there are maybe two things that are actually worthwhile per store, and a ton of other stuff reduced enough to look cheap, but actually not any better than you could get throughout the year if you have a sharp eye. But the deals on Monday have never even been as good as the deals on Friday. I bought a few nothings last Black Friday for a pittance, but bought nothing on Monday.
Actually you're better off buying a TV the rest of the year - the folks at Best Buy told me that the manufacturers ship them different stock to sell over the Thanksgiving weekend, usually a lot of B-stock or manufacturing errors, and the components are lower grade to meet the new price point. They had a few of the boxes lying around and they were indeed different models. You might get one of the good ones, but they said they get more returned products on those models than any others.
And since the reply text is somehow missing, this was originally a reply to @eraten. But you should all be aware.
I did all of my shopping on Thursday and Friday. No new sales worth breaking out the plastic for again on Cyber Monday; it's mostly regurgitated sales from last week.
After last years terrible cyber Monday I have effectively given up on it. It is a good thing too because the few "deals" I saw posted on here were terrible.
