@manuelcaberte: Tried that too. Says I'm up to date.

On Verizon, the problem I have is random freezes where I have to pull the battery to get a response from the device. I'm still on 4.0.4 with no update available either.

@manuelcaberte: 4.0.4 is the highest for Verizon at this point.

I have not had any issues with my S3 on Verizon and I have had it since launch.

The problem may actually be AT&T. I found this with a quick Google search.

"It is usually just an issue with MMS messaging. It has to do with AT&T only allowing MMS to be sent or received over mobile data. The S3 turns off mobile data when it connects to a wifi signal, so that means you have to disable it to get the message to download or send."

Seems like a silly way to do business, but take it for what it is worth. Turn Off WiFi and see if that works.

Got the S3 for Sprint last week too. Has not not updated to 4.1.1 yet, also states that everything is updated.

I know a few people with Sprint S3s and none have received the update yet or can manually get it.

@morriea: Thanks. That seems to be the only thing I can find too.
I have noticed that myself. If I kill WiFi I get a flood of missed text too. Sucks because I prefer to use WiFi whenever possible.
Agreed. Stupid.

I keep reading that 4.1.1 is out, but I can't find a normal way to update it my phone with it other than going through a few PC programs that I don't want t mess with.

@wickedd365: At least it is not the phone itself.

I see that AT&T has confirmed 4.1.1 "in the coming months", not that it is released yet. Maybe someone with the carrier can confirm.

Was finally able to call them. Lady said hat if the phone loses carrier signal the text problem could happen (duh), but said they aren't familiar with the WiFi causing the problem.

There is an update out and it has to be downloaded over WiFi that she is going to try and push to my phone this evening when she calls back. I'll let you know what happens from there.

I'm in the same boat here. My S3 arrived Monday, and before that I was an iPhone user. It's been an interesting experience so far. The only thing I've had trouble with so far is finding a wake-up that s voice will reliably understand. Currently I feel like Navi, yelling "listen!" to my phone. Then again, I don't really text, so I likely wouldn't notice if I missed a few.

I root, unlocked, and flash CM10. No probs whatsoever, runs great. I have the sprint model. Running 4.2.1 myself, the photosphere camera looks awesome on this phone. AND I never lost December!

Got the update she pushed. Still showing 4.0.4 but this has added a few features that I didn't have.
Phone seems to be working fine now, she is going to follow up with me Sat.
Hearing they are releasing 4.2 soon.

@morriea: Got JB with AT&T a couple weeks ago. Like it alot.

Got a new SIM, still did it. Finally did a backup and factory reset Friday and it has been working no prob till last night/this morning. Dropped signal again and had to reboot.
Hopefully it was a one time thing. If not I'm getting a replacement.
