What is your favorite comfort food when life seems bad?
When things are going bad, I do one thing. I buy a big bag of those individual chocolate bars (snickers, twix, etc.) and put them in the freezer.I sit and eat (or suck on lol) frozen chocolate bars for a few hours.
Then, life seems a little better.
What do you eat when the world appears to be against yoi?
There are some answers in this previous thread.
I always pick the worst thing for me...... Big Mac's!
Oh! And those Red Velvet Whoopie Pies they sell at Corner Star!
.....Girl Scout Cookies when in season.
And, Easter Egg shaped Reeses PB Eggs. Don't ask why, they just taste better in egg form for some reason?! Almost that comforting time of year again!
While there are several items, Oreos seem to be the best for me!
Ice cream is my kryptonite...
Raw chocolate chip cookie dough. Yes, I know there are warnings not to eat it raw but I can't help it.
blue box mac & cheese
@mtrlgrl: I know of no one who has ever gotten sick from eating raw cookie dough...and my sample population is fairly large.
When the world is conspiring against me, it's pretty much anything chocolate, particularly in ice cream or cookie form. Chocolate bars also work well.
When I'm homesick or miss friends or family, it's a dinner of lamb chops (which are darn hard to find in Texas...too many beef ranchers), steamed broccoli, mashed potatoes and chocolate ice cream for dessert.
When I need to take a break from my life for whatever reason, it's the deepest of deep dish pizza that can be found in the city I'm in.
Cheese, glorious cheese.
Umm ... beer.
Beer can count as food, right?
Mashed potatoes...and they HAVE to be Potato Buds...it's a childhood thing
When the world is against me, I eat regret and drink down a glass of sadness.
Anything with gravy is comfort food. A nice pot roast with corn, mashed potatoes and cornbread is just the perfect meal when I'm in the dumps. Interestingly enough it leads to a different kind of dumps, but at least I'm happy.
Anything that I can dip into ketchup... fries, bierocks, chicken nuggets... yum!
@mommyleah: I agree with the egg shape. There's just something about it. Those, pizza, stroganoff, and ice cream...and if the cookie dough is already made then that'll work too :-)
Chips. I can rip through an entire bag of Doritos when I'm down.
Chicken and dumplings. Warm and comforting.
@gt0163c: I'm thinking they put that warning on the package to cover themselves in case of a lawsuit.
The olives residing at the bottom of my Dirty Martini.
