Has the BCS championship bowl game made every other bowl game meaningless?
Really, in pre-BCS there were at least a few bowl games that could have some significance in the final number 1 ranking. Because #1 didn't always play #2, if the number one team lost, especially if that game was played earlier, could make other games more interesting.
Not anymore. The one and two teams play, last, and LATE, and every other game is meaningless, unless you're an alumni or associated with a school in a bowl game. I only watched two games ths year including last nights snooze-fest, and didn't see the end of either. Zzzzzzzzzz
Hopefully, before I die, I'll see a real playoff system with a real national champion.

Bowl games are kinda meaningless to begin with. The kids never play all out, it's just a money making scheme for the colleges, and you'll never really get to see who is the champ since the system is designed to just bolster the big conferences.
That and how can bowls mean anything when almost every team gets one. The Chick Fil A bowl? The Beef O'Brady Bowl? Stan's Haberdashery Bowl? I'd go further but I'd be stealing from SNL.
@psumek: How about the FCS championship game? NDSU played their hearts out, I'll say that much.
@coolphilip04: If it wasnt all about MONEY we would already have a play-off very similar to the one they use. sigh
No, the BCS has done that on their own. Money hungry bastards.
@psumek: Which bowl games did you watch? In the ones I watched the kids played their hearts out and enjoyed the experience. They mean something to the kids that get to travel and the fans that get to go with them. I'm not a fan of the BCS, but I am very much a fan of the bowl system. I want it to go back to the pre-BCS system. I echo the sentiments found in this article:
