@brandie346: Nice! Would have been nice getting to a medal hockey game, but couldn't swing it.

1984 men's soccer. Matches were at various sites around California, I saw team USA play at Stanford's Stadium, and a few days later watched Sweden play there as well.

Never have. None have been close enough for me to attend finance-wise. Jealous of those who were able to. :(

I attended the 2010 Olympic Winter Games in Vancouver and Whistler. It was such a blast! I was at the Opening Ceremonies (and was blown away by the majesty of it all), and attended ski jumping, bobsleigh, women's freestyle ski aerials, biathlon (cross country skiing and guns, what a combo!), and several victory parties/concerts (deadmau5 was by far the best one).
It was like a huge party with people from all over the world who were all there to have fun and not only cheer on their athletes but also to celebrate sport and unity. Oh, and to collect pins. Lots of pins.
It was my first Olympic Games experience, and hopefully won't be my last.

no, but I want to. Work is sending me to the UK next week so maybe I can score a ticket to an event and figure out how to get to it

@natedogg828: I heard the OIC is taking back a bunch of tickets from delegations that aren't using them. They are going to sell them, but only to British citizens. Maybe talk to contact over there for work, and see if you can get hooked up!

Closest I've ever been was seeing the torch relay thu Lyndon, KS. The feel of the crowd was wonderful. A little town so far from the arenas of competition but that day, we felt included.
