Have you ever been in a physical altercation?
Did you win (in your opinion I am sure you did!) Never been in a fight myself... probably wont ever have to!

It was tough but i finally got that body stuffed into that garbage bag. It almost whooped me. Thanks Glad ForceFlex trash bags!
does the downvote mean someone wants to fight?!?
Them's fightin' words.
I was taught (and I believe) that sometimes it takes more courage to walk away from a fight than it does to engage in one.
In middle school a boy tried to pick a fight with me outside at lunch one day. We had been friends in elementary, but middle school is a dark time. I suspect he was trying to gain friends/prove himself to new friends by beating someone up.
He came up to me and said, "Where's the money you owe me?".
There was no money owed. This was just a pretext for what came next.
"I'm gonna kick your a$& if you don't give it to me." (or some other phrase equally as clever.)
A crowd formed.
I told him that I wasn't going to fight. I turned my back and walked away.
This scenario repeated every day for a couple of weeks.
One day when I turned my back to walk away he jumped on my back.
I ran backwards into a brick wall, knocking him off.
Someone yelled "Teacher!" and the crowd scattered.
That's the closest I've ever come to being in a fight.
@davidschronic: Nice! +1
I've been in a few, but all were in the middle of hockey games so I don't know if they count. In my first attempt at a hockey "fight" my opponent started crying. Akward...
Yes, quite a few times but that was part of my job. I am really glad I had good health insurance.
There was a bully who tried almost daily to goad me into a fight, but like @anotherhiggins's "friend", nothing really happened.
Then there was the time with the Texas State Trooper. I would have won that fight if it hadn't been for his buddies, aka the Highway Patrol. I still can't believe I only got a "slap on the wrist" for everything that happened that night, and no...I will not recount what happened. I will say this: Waking up in jail with no memory of the previous night is not the best way to start your day.
many, I also do it recreationally now. Nothing gets the blood flowing faster.
@anotherhiggins: I commend you for your actions, believe in your thoughts, but act differently. You were lucky. I have seen people that were walking away from a fight get hit in the back of the head with a pool cue, a beer bottle (several times), get kicked in the ass hard, get tackled from behind, get kicked in the back, and get bum rushed for being a puse.
I teach my relatives to walk away, but to never turn your back. If they keep coming after you started to walk away (of course telling them you don't want trouble) then knock the living snot out of them. kick em in the junk, put your fingers in their eye sockets and pull out an eyeball, try to break things. It is a fight and has no rules other than the winner walks away. Having retreated and told the crowd you didn't want trouble is normally enough to get you out of any legal issues.
all the children in the family learn to fight early, how to inflict maximum damage in the shortest time span possible then leave. Protection.
Yes, probably more then my fair share. I used to teach practical self-defense as a hobby and in my early 20's I spent a couple years as a bouncer at an bar outside of Philadelphia.
Now, as a husband(and most likely a father in the next few years), I would never willingly seek out a fight that I could instead verbally de-escalate but, I find it a comfort to know that I have the confidence and skills to defend myself and those under my care if need be.
In the end, being able to defend myself and those under my care from those that would mean us harm, falls into the "I'd rather have it and not need it than need it and not have it" category for me.
Yeah, I was in a few. If by "won" you mean I walked away and had less marks on me, then I won all but one. But really, I feel like I "won" if I can diffuse or leave the situation.
In the Army we trained in hand to hand a couple times per month. It was out and out fighting, much in the way MMA bouts are, but without the threat of serious bodily harm, but there was still quite a bit of pulled and strained muscles and joints, as well as some serious pain.
