How do you know if your TV is 3D-capable?
I thought 120Hz was all you needed to display 3D content. I have a Sharp Aquos that's 120Hz, but I was told (in an email response from Sharp) that it's not 3D capable. Are they lying to me (hoping that I'll buy a new TV)? Or am I missing something else?
Thanks,

No they are not lying. The TV needs to be able to accept a 3D HDMI signal AND be able to communicate with those fancy glasses.
You can look up your model and see if it is 3D capable here:

If it is not on the list, you will need a converter to interpret the 3D signal.
Right now, there is one out that works only with PS3 games (not movies or cable), with others currently in development. You can read more about them here: http://www.3d-vip.com
Cross your eyes and look for the schooner (sailboat). If you can see it then your TV is 3-D ready.
Honestly I don't want a 3-D TV till it can project it in 3-D in mid air with out glasses
