Did you see that there are new Muppets coming to the BBC?
I didn't have very much Muppet exposure as a kid (though Muppet Treasure Island will always have a special place in my heart), but I've been enjoying them more and more lately (I've been going through the archives of old episodes). Apparently there is a new show on the way, courtesy of The Jim Henson Company and the BBC: "the people in the UK will be treated to No Strings Attached, a Jim Henson production greenlit by the BBC. The show will be quite similar in format to the original Muppet Show with Muppet characters in a world where Muppets and humans co-exist. There will be a whole new cast of Muppets and will reportedly have two celebrity guests per episode." Sounds quite interesting! What say you?
Worried about new muppets but otherwise sounds great, i have to say the original muppet show was excellent. Even though I have only seen it in repeats.
I've always wondered why an american network hasn't tried to have a show you can sit down with your kids and watch in the evening before they go to bed. 7 to 8est does not have to be owned by hollywood gossip.
@baronz: Hey now! Let's not knock Jeopardy! off the 7:00/7:30 block.
Though, I agree with you in basic theory. A show like this would satisfy this sort of taste.
Don't call them muppets. They prefer to be called "fabricated americans".
@samstag: or Manikin Americans ;)
"I prefer my puppets mean and racist" - something Jeff Dunham would say when asked to comment.
I like Muppets. They taste like chicken.
Yeah, im not digging the "A brand new cast". That's not the Muppets.
New or old, the Muppets have been symbols of a better world, and they've made the world better with their work. I thought they did a really good job of capturing the spirit of the old stuff with the recent feature film, and I'm fairly confident that the BBC and the Henson crew will do all they can to ensure the same spirit appears in No Strings Attached.
Nope, but why haven't you been in the DW chat, @tossthedice??
