How far do you travel over the holidays?

This year its only about two hours to my folks next year about 6 hours to my wife's parents.

How far do you have to go to spend Christmas with family or friends.

I'm about 700 miles from home this Christmas, staying at my sister's family's place. This is the second year I've driven, breaking it up into two about 6 hour days. It actually works pretty well and lets me see some friends who live in between.

I am home. I stopped about halfway home from work to a family gathering at a sibling's home, maybe 8 miles. Tommorow I plan to go about 5 miles in one direction and around 20 in the other. Not too bad this year.

The kitchen is about 15 feet or so from where I am now, so I'll put my rough estimate at 15 feet.

I'm not much for family gatherings. :P

About 15 steps, from my upstairs to my downstairs. Another 10 steps when I head to the basement to play some video games :-)

We started at my stepdaughter's this weekend through tomorrow morning to spend Christmas morning with her daughter and Christmas Eve with my inlaws. That is about 200 miles (4 hrs) from home. Christmas Day we head back home, but stop off at my family's dinner which is an extra 25 miles out of the way each way. Then Wednesday we head down south to visit my Mom another 250 miles or so (5 hrs) and that visit will include a 50 mile each way drive to a nearby town to visit more relatives. Typical for our holidays, but we enjoy seeing all the family and don't mind driving.
