weinerschnitzel. 79cent corn dogs, $2.49 chili cheese fries (Usually have a $1 off coupon for the fries)

Dip the corn dog in the chili cheese... I wish they would take my suggestion of making a chili-cheese corndog available.

They usually have a coupon out for $1.99 for a chili dog and fries, another great bargain

@kamikazeken: I've never heard of this, but it sound pretty awesome!!

vote-for4vote-against

McDonald's dollar menu...
Haven't been in a Burger King in a long time but I'd check out the dollar menu there too..

vote-for16vote-against

Taco Bell. I think it is called the Cheesy Beefy Burrito for $1.49 in my area. 3 of those and you definitely can't eat any more. Burger King (I like the spicy chicken crisp for $1)and McDonald's (McChicken for $1 that is at least 33% bigger than BK's spicy version) are pretty good too if you order off the value menu.

vote-for10vote-against

Sams or Costco are probably the best deals in the area.
Both have a huge slice of pizza and a giant soda for pretty cheap. Sams is $2.50. Costco is right around there.
Sams also has a hotdog combo with a foot long hotdog and huge soda for $1.50.

Quik Trip often has some good deals for a quick lunch as well, especially in the summer when they do the cheap soda deals.

vote-for5vote-against

Taco Bueno. I don't know what they put in their taco meat, but it's addictive. Awesome quesadillas, too.

vote-for3vote-against

Of the normal chains, probably Subway. Not the greatest subs around, but usually a good value for what you pay, and it's reasonably healthy.

vote-for4vote-against

@benyust2: I would also say Taco Bell. Their prices have gone up a bit and some TBs are more expensive (some have done away with the $2 meal deal and just upped the price), but it's the best value overall.

A running joke with some of my friends is that you can get food for a week there for around $10

vote-for5vote-against

Taco Bell. Yes it's so bad for you (an not even considered real meat anymore), but it's so cheap and so good!

AND NOW THEY SERVE BREAKFAST!!!!!

vote-for5vote-against

Taco Bell Beefy 5 Layer burrito. Used to be 99 cents, they recently upped it to 1.19 here, but still a steal considering how much food is there. There's another one that's 99 cents right now, but it's a limited time deal. Something with rice and hot fritos.

I tend to supplement it with a 99 cent cheesy nachos, but they're not a great value, but I like to add some crunch to my burrito.

vote-for5vote-against

@rprebel: Agree with the Taco Bueno! unfortunately, they're mostly just in Texas and Oklahoma (but they have been branching out further in the last few years), so I only get to eat there when visiting relatives. But yeah, amazing value. Sit-down food at fast-food speed and prices. Salsa bar is great. IBC rootbeer on the soda fountain too.

Sooooo much better than Toxic Hell.

vote-for3vote-against

If they have it, the best value right now at Taco Bell is to drop a dime or two in the "charity game" at the counter. With a little practice (start with pennies, try to land on the next-to-bottom ledge and then nudge one ledge down to the winner spot), you should be able to win a free taco around 50% of the time.

Unfortunately you're only allowed one win per visit, so you can't load up with a whole tray of 10-cent tacos.

vote-for5vote-against

McDonald's. No doubt about it. But Taco Bell is good when you're the DD and everyone has the drunchies.

vote-for4vote-against

@tsfisch: I think with Subway you're just overpaying for a big chunk of bread. The three triangles of meat that equate to less than one slice from a deli hardly make their Subs a 'value'. I haven't had a meatball or tuna in a long time but I venture to say those are in the same boat...
Best value Taco Bell or Wendy's dollar menu.

vote-for-14vote-against

Not a fan of Taco Bell, also you people say it's cheap but everytime I go there I have to dip into my 401k to pay the bill!!

vote-for6vote-against

Hardee's has a $5 box... and it's awesome. Double Cheeseburger, Chili Dog, Fries, Apple Pie and a drink. I would eat there every day if I wasn't afraid of turning into a whale

vote-for6vote-against

@gt0163c: Those are great deals, but have you been to an Ikea for food? It's ridiculous how cheap you can get a solid meal and they have cinnamon rolls all day long. Sweedish meatballs!!!

vote-for7vote-against

@joslynmsu: Ikea is legit, But I don’t know if I consider it fast food, Once I’m in that place I have to look around and I usually end up being there for like 6 hours it seems like

vote-for3vote-against

Taco Bell as well. They do the 5 Layer as a $2 mael deal with a drink and chips. Add another side around a buck if you want or not, it can't be beat for cheap. I also like Wendy's, but they raised prices here on the Double Stack and the Jr. Bacon, so not the deal they used to be. Subway comes in third for me, because lately they try to skimp on the ingredients. Also, the subs seemed like they used to be bigger.

vote-for4vote-against

@joslynmsu: That Swedish meatball plate will be the end of me someday, I'm sure.

The food is fast, the trip most certainly isn't. :)

vote-for3vote-against

Hardee's Burger! Unquestionably! Then Subway.

vote-for3vote-against

Agreeing with Taco Bell, just cause it's super cheap. Also Subway if you get a $5 footlong.

My preferred fast food is probably Jack In The Box, though.

vote-for4vote-against

@joslynmsu: I have been to Ikea. And you're right that their meals are a great value. Unfortunately the 90 minute travel time (without traffic) makes it a seldomly visited place for me. But, when I do go, I do make sure I'm there around a mealtime (sometimes two...arrive in time for a late lunch and then eat an early dinner right before leaving. :) )

vote-for10vote-against

Five Guys. Best burger ever.

vote-for3vote-against

in-n-out burger and I don't even have
a in-n-out in my state!

fresh
made to order
simple menu
good prices

McD's and the burger king can suck it.
they don't even compare.

vote-for4vote-against

Jumbaco!

Seriously, Jack in the Box's Jumbaco deal was insane. Jumbo Jack, two tacos, fries and a drink, and it sold for $4.29 around here.

But for everyday value, nothing beats Taco Bell. If I get one of their $5 box deals for lunch, I don't have to eat for the rest of the day.

vote-for3vote-against

Taco Cabana Cabana Bowl. About a pound of food: taco salad shell, beans (refried, black or charro), rice, salad, chicken or ground beef, cheese, and sour cream, with all the salsa you want for $3. Taco Bell also has a good deal on a light meal: a chicken burrito, a bag of Doritos and a soda for $2.

vote-for4vote-against

It's a little pricey, but a burrito from Chipotle for $6 will fill you up for a week.

vote-for0vote-against

I don't consider anything "fast food" to be of good value. There is nothing healthy or nutritious about it, regardless of the low cost or convenience of it. I haven't eaten from a fast food restaurant in over 10 years, and that is not likely to ever change.

vote-for2vote-against

@eggmansky: How much is a Hardee's burger, like $6? That place is easily double what BK or McD's is.

vote-for5vote-against

Wow, someone actually said Panera Bread is a good deal. I just don't have a way to respond to someone that out of touch with reality. :p It's certainly one of the more healthy choices, but definitely not a bargain.

Every huge-chain fast food restaurant has a 99 cent value menu, so you are going to be able to find a "bargain" if you go off of that. I would say overall, considering all the menu items and their prices, Taco Bell is probably the best value. It seems like every few months, they have new promotions and new menu items which are priced low and stay there.

vote-for4vote-against

Chick-fil-A anybody? For my money that's the best fast food.

vote-for0vote-against

@stupimlico: Chick-fil-A is The BOMB and the Spicy chicken sandwich is the best you can get!!

vote-for1vote-against

@claudicina: Well your better than everyone else arent you?

vote-for2vote-against

I miss the days when it was Taco Bell saving me money :(
EVERYTHING Use to be cheap!

vote-for3vote-against

I second,or third or fourth the Taco Bueno answer. $2.99 gives you two beef tacos (one soft one hard), refri beans, spanish rice, some sour cream, quacamole, and chips with all the salsa, hot sauce, and jalapenos you care to add.

vote-for0vote-against

@jseureau: I wasn't being a jerk about it, and you have no need to be either. I stated facts. I make healthy life choices. That doesn't make me any better than anyone.

vote-for3vote-against

I cook on Saturday, portion things out on Sunday for the freezer. Lunches during the week are whatever I pull out of the freezer and throw into my bag as I'm running out the door.

Best. Fast. Food. Evar.

vote-for2vote-against

Go to mcdonalds and order a McGangbang. def the most bang for your buck

vote-for2vote-against

El Pollo Loco!!

It's not just absolute dollars and cents, it's leaner and cleaner than what you can buy from t-bell or mcd's for the same money.

vote-for2vote-against

@firstpancake: Our Pollo Loco closed after about a year. It couldn't compete with the plethora of real Mexican restaurants here a literal stone's throw from Mexico. (Last week a woman shopping downtown was hit in the leg by a bullet fired in Juarez. Bullets fired in Mexico came through the office window a floor above mine last fall.) I liked it a lot, though, especially their generous side salad. But I thought it was pretty expensive for what you got, we have some homegrown grilled chicken places that offer much bigger portions for similar prices.

vote-for2vote-against

I always get a McDouble ($1) and a large iced tea ($1) whenever I visit McDonald's for a quick lunch (I go about once or twice a month). Remarkably cheap.

vote-for2vote-against

I got a chicken pot pie from KFC ($3.99) today and man, was that thing good. And huge. I ate half of it and was stuffed.

vote-for2vote-against

In and Out ...... I so miss that place.

vote-for2vote-against

@silo11 I'm wondering if they are expanding a bit too aggressively? Here in Texas they opened with a bang, but seems the new has worn off. Just about all the burgers here are mustard based so I wonder how their thousand island / special sauce will keep people coming back. I noticed a 2nd location coming soon near me, I really don't think i would go back after my one and only trip to try them out.

vote-for3vote-against

For a long time, the Whopper was only .99, but even when it hit $1.99, it was still the best deal around. Yeah, they got to sell me fries from time to time, but mostly it was a bag o' Whoppers.

vote-for2vote-against

Freshii. Not too many around yet, but we got them here in Portland about 10 months ago. Noodle or rice bowls, burritos, salads, etc. All fresh made and custom made. Range from $5-7 or so, but large portions. Good stuff.

vote-for2vote-against

Wendy's is the best by far.
