lol @ negative vote! I seriously am curious, I'm looking for some good ideas for new dishes since I do 90% of the cooking in my home.

Hm, clearly some people don't like this question.

I had a peanut butter and jelly sandwich just before my 5:00 class, and later had some chips and homemade guacamole.

Some people apparently don't like to eat dinner...

For me, I had a couple pizzas of leftover Old Chicago Pizza and a Killian's Irish Red. It. Was. Delicious.

blueberry stuffed french toast, bacon, sausage, hash browns, strawberries.

who doesn't love making/having breakfast for dinner?

@kamikazeken:

No veggies? Tsk, tsk. :)

I made hors d'oeuvres from two ounces of NY State Extra Sharp Cheddar sliced onto 16 Ritz crackers with a couple of slices of home-made pickled jalapeños on each cracker. This with a Sam Adams Boston Lager.

Had fried chicken, mashed potatoes, green beans and home made mac and cheese. I cooked it all with the exception of the green beans.

@kamikazeken and @straub: People have really been downvoting what appear to be questions asked only to build reputation points. They probably didn't even click to open this page to read further. Might I suggest making a question in the form of a deal? ;) Like "What are some good money-saving recipes people have found lately?"

@mikecris: I've been here long enough to not care about reputation, and on the occasion that I do check the leaderboard I'm nearly always 90& or that neighborhood. only leaderboard stat I really care about is top deal voter of the day.

I'm not really looking for recipes anyway, I'm looking for new ideas (like home made mac & cheese, I've never made that), I can jut google recipes.

There are 2 adults & 3 kids in the house, and it seems like dinner all too often comes down to one of about a dozen things we typically eat. After a few decades, that gets boring.

I ate my veggies! Stir fried zucchini, cherry tomato halves, chicken breast chunks with garlic & herbs de provence and a sprinkle of Thai seasoning. Light and easy. Trying to keep my New Year's resolution to get those extra pounds back off in time for warm weather clothing. I've come to the realization that starchy foods, sugar, grains and I just don't make the best of friends. They turn all stalkerish and want to stick to my hips and thighs. It's bad enough to be fifty. I just don't want to be fifty AND fat!

@kamikazeken: I highly recommend simplyrecipes.com. Elise has some real winners that I've worked into rotation. Also finally went to see what pioneerwoman.com was all about. Must say she has some pretty tasty things as well.

Last night was on the odd side. I had a dish made in the crockpot of about 4oz leftover ham (from the Honeybaked Ham Company)and a head of green cabbage, after cooking I added white vinegar, a little sugar, and lots of freshly ground pepper. It was a comparatively small amount of ham, more of a seasoning than an ingredient. It's something my grandmother used to make and I hadn't had it for years. It was just as delicious as I remembered, which is a good thing as it made about 6 servings so I'll be having it all week. For dessert I had a banana drizzled with Hershey's Special Dark Chocolate syrup with fat free half and half poured over it. All in all a comparatively healthy meal.

tonight we had brown & serve sourdough luigis turned into bread bowls with home made chili (zac brown recipe for chili from parade magazine last year with ground beef, ground pork, cubed sirloin chunks and 3 kinds of beans in it) with freshly chopped red onions and sharp cheddar on top. Had 3 tall glasses of ice cold milk with it, and a banana for dessert. The chili simmered on the stove for about 5 hours before dinner.
