This has nothing to do with whether or not your site is banned, but it would be appreciated if you expired your old deals after the sale is over or the price changes.

@tbgolladay: Ahhhh, thanks for the pointer. I'll do that. Much appreciated.

Have you had any customer complaints? Perhaps someone was dissatisfied and reported you. A ban would still be fairly harsh for just one, though.

@thedogma: Well, I haven't received any notifications from Woot besides a $5 credit thanking me for posting and deals.woot.com. Seems like I would receive some sort of notification if their were complaints...

Hmmm seems like a valid question. Try tattling on yourself to get a mod to speak up in here? Curious to hear the outcome...

I am not sure if you are the site but I am aware of a member tattling on over 300 expired deals for one website.....so many that they were actually e-mailed saying thanks for the tattles we are now aware of the problem with this vendor please stop tattling on all of their old deals we will take care of it. Since it has been indicated that you did not end your expired deals I wonder if this was your site. If that is the case odds are you were blocked for not maintaining your sales and creating a ton of work for the tattle mod.

@raider9924: I guess this COULD inf act be the reason why it was blocked...but I don't think I've added more than 60 or so deals in the last 4 months. In retrospect though, I probably should've been more aware of maintaining the deals and expiring them on time...It was more of an oversight that I wasn't really aware of as a newer member, but have since fixed after starting this thread.

after looking at your site, I noticed that you do not appear to actually sell anything, you are simply a deal aggregator. I'm sure your posts will be allowed to stay up IF THEY LINK DIRECTLY TO THE MERCHANT SELLING THE DEAL.

Kind of a "duh!" question, if you ask me. You're trying to compete with deals.woot, WTF should they let you post link to YOUR site, where you would earn any potential referral commissions instead of woot earning them? Would walmart let target post ads in their store?

vote-for3vote-against

I'm thinking @kamikazeken is on the money here... Unless policies have changed, deals.woot only allows deals posted directly from the retailer. No blogs and such in the way. That mechanism of revenue earning just isn't an option here.

Perhaps Woot staff would allow you to include a link to your site within the description of a deal linked directly to the retailer? Members do keep tabs on sites like yours, so maybe. It's worth asking, at least.

@kamikazeken: You are correct, it is a deal aggregation site...but the posts are legitimate deals, and are accurate...and I haven't found anything in the terms of use stating not to do this. Maybe it's a "duh!" question to you, but to me, it's a legitimate way to post deals and get people to my site until otherwise noted, hence my question. Don't get me wrong, I understand your point here, but if rules are rules, and I'm playing by the rules, what's the real problem? If Walmart asked people to post ads in their store and didn't specifically say "NO TARGET ADS ALLOWED", well why in the hell would target not jump on that opportunity and post ads in Walmart? Now , with that being said, if a moderator were to email me and ask me politely to not do this, well, that would be a different story altogether. Same goes for if someone can cite where it says not to do this...maybe it's there and I'm just missing it. I mean, it's an honest question, is it not?

@gregorylikescheapstu: You are both probably right, I guess I am just looking for where it states this so I can feel like a dumbass for skipping it over...

@dailydealindex: There is no official set of rules or FAQ however there is a member created FAQ located here: https://docs.google.com/document/pub?id=1dUtrnLF_tT2j1SbohQjJpOR9wRH7tnK7QlqXwuCCvFM

While it was user created it was "reviewed" by the boss around here that made a couple of suggestions for edits so it is as official as you will get. While I have not visited your site from your description it seems to violate there 2 rules:

-The deal added includes a third party referral/affiliate link
-The source of the deal is from another deal aggregator website

Hope that helps.

I think you have it figured out by now. The only workaround that I see is to post a "deal" from a website that is posted on yours that doesn't refer to your website.

@raider9924: Thank you for this. This is what I was looking for and that is all. Much appreciated.
