Anyone else really wish you could get prints of Woot Shirts?
I find myself really liking many of the shirt.woot designs, but only as art, not as something I would want to wear. I see other people saying the same things in comments on shirt after shirt: "Great design, but I wouldn't wear it."
I really want to have the option to buy a 8x10 or 5x7 high-quality acid-free archival print that I could frame and hang in my apartment. I could collect a few and frame them together, since often the styles are similar and complementary. Anyone else like this idea?

That's a good idea. Maybe you should suggest it to Woot and see if they will give it a try.
@hossdawg97: I posted it here because I'm pretty sure Woot will respect the request more if lots of Wooters comment in the affirmative and upvote the question (versus just me sending a single private message). Maybe we need to tag admins? @thunderthighs
They actually started doing some poster prints a few weeks ago.

The 2011 T-List event is over now, but there are a couple in this week's Poe vs. Shakespeare event.

All the special events have been a "test the waters" kind of thing; some have sold well, some probably not as well as they had hoped.
I have a t-shirt that I framed hanging on my wall in my playroom. I bought a size medium, wrapped it around the pressboard back of a poster frame, taped the edges down to keep it flat and put it into the frame. It worked well and looks good. I've gotten a lot of compliments on it. No one realizes it's a t-shirt until I tell them. I guess you could probably cut the front off the shirt and frame that as well.
That said, I do think it would be cool to have the option of buying some Woot shirt designs as prints.
I love the idea. I for one would definitely be interested in it.

Agree, I don't get to wear t-shirts that often though I love a lot of the prints I see. I would buy and frame if available as a print.
@shadowblue42: Wow that's a cool instructable, and something I never even thought about doing. Hmmm...I think it's an awesome idea, and the cost is minimal, I'll try it with my next t-shirt purchase, and just buy an extra to wear.
Posters of some of the prints would be cool. In fact, I just got my Questionable Table of Elements Poster in the mail today.
@dxdn: You rang?
I emailed this thread to the appropriate Shirt person. Hopefully she'll pop in after the weekend.
Even though a print worthy of my swanky bachelor pad
is few and far between, i say it should be immediate that
prints be made to the free republic!
Double your profits WOOT by making them available
in classy velvet paintings.
oh yeah......shrink wrapped bacon
don't forget the bacon.
@thunderthighs: Thanks!
Thanks to everyone for the replies and feedback and all the upvotes!
I thought of the T-shirt stretch-and-frame idea, but I would prefer a standard size paper print since the size of designs on the shirts vary and also mounting shirts is more tedious than simply framing a standard sized acid-free print, especially if you wanted to put three or four or more together in a collection framing.
Perhaps there could be a pre-order for prints on the day the shirt is released where people could select the size they want printed (like 5x7, 8x10, 24x36 poster -- normal poster, not archival like the smaller prints). Woot could set a minimum needed to print for each size, and then once that is reached, it gets printed for everyone who orders that size.
Keep an eye on our weekly event sales over on Shirt.Woot. We've had posters, greeting cards, and small cards for sale over there. If we're trying out a new type of product, that's the place to look.
