Why was my Free Fries at BK on 12/16 deal removed (Curious)?
Sorry, this is a question for the mods. I just had a deal for Free Burger King Fries on Dec 16th that had 80+ votes. The deal is valid. Why was it just removed from the site? You can delete this question after an answer. Thanks.
@jumbowoot: Sorry, I re-read my last post and I find that the use of the word 'But' (twice) makes it appear as if you did not provide enough clarification around the question. That is not what I meant to convey to you. My entire last answer should have said, "Got it. Thanks." :)
@jumbowoot: Thanks, for the explanation. But I did want some clarification as far as notices/press releases for deals attached to the company websites (possible grey area). But I can completely understand your position on this matter. Thanks, again.
@mfladd: I clicked on that link.
No buy button.
No "like us on facebook and get a coupon".
No "give me your email address and we'll send you a free sample".
No transaction at all.
I'll change the title of this thread to call attention to it but I don't really see it as a deal.
@miquinn: it only had 5 downvotes (that I saw) before it got canned, but there were some haters in the comments.
@jumbowoot: Yeah, that was my deal (linked to the burger king site). I had mentioned that it had been on HLN and that there was an article on Time.com. I mean, if it's in the news, it HAS to be true, right? That said, I am surprised that there is no mention of it on their website; a quick google search pops the deal everywhere.
@jumbowoot: Would this press release from the BK website suffice? http://www.bk.com/en/us/company-info/press/press-release2524.html
For mfladd's post, the link was to a blog.
We do not allow links to blogs that do not conduct transactions.
We saw another posting of this with the link going to bk.com this morning.
I searched and never found anything about free fries on that so I removed it as well.
That being said, I am fairly confident that there may be free fries at some BK locations on 12/16.
@jumbowoot: I'm not quite sure what you mean.
Was this deal deleted because it's at the physical locations only, and you can't complete the transaction online (no B&M-only deals allowed), or because it was from a site unaffiliated with Burger King (confirmed/official deals only)?
@jumbowoot: I see. I used that site because it had a usable picture and for some reason I was having browser issues with adding that deal no matter how I tried (damn machines). And while every news organization and deal.site was reporting the deal I could not find it on the actual Burger King site except under the investor relations pages.
Thanks for explaining, and for responding to my question. It is appreciated.
It's not really a deal you can buy.
We don't like links to blogs or places where you can't buy/acquire something.
RIP. There are several reasons a deal expires.
The link is broken (when we check it).
The price is different (when we check it).
The item is different (when we check it).
In each of those cases, if we RIP it and the deal returns, you are free to re-post it.
Hope that helps.
@jumbowoot: are you able to help here? I have waited thinking I would get an answer from support staff with this post - no luck. The deal is valid (news link): http://nrn.com/article/burger-king-debut-new-fries. At this point I would just like to know why it was removed. Thanks.
And while I am at it my last deal was also rip'd early for no apparent reason. I have since tattled and it has been un-rip'ed. Still it is annoying.
great... now someone is going to post it tomorrow and it will get 1,000,000,000 upvotes ...but all those haters out there will downvote 999,000,000 times. BUT It will still be 100 votes :o
(yeah, that's right! I am #1 top student in my 3rd grade math class!)
[edit] hmm you know what? ...just ignore all of that shananigans up there^
The same thing happened to the subway deal..maybe because they were just too far in advance or something...
I have only been alive for 4 hours... so that is all day for me
[edit] silly you
@miquinn: thanks for the support, but it was actually only there for 4-5 hours :)
what the heck... it has been there all day ...! ...? ...!
