Being that the movies never did the books justice, I must say I've been ready for the last one since shortly after the first one.

@capguncowboy: True, but they are very well made movies in my opinion (besides the fifth...) that give as much justice to the books as they can in their 1-3 hour time frame. I rarely see a movie of a book that ends up as well as HP has been able to do throughout this series.

@armagedon: What about Watchmen? One of the best Graphic Novels of all-time. And it made a flawless transition to film. But I guess to each their own.

I'm still not ready for the first Harry Potter.

@capguncowboy: I did say 'rarely', so not never.
As for Watchmen, thank you for reminding me! I missed it in theaters and I guess I forgot to get it on netflix.

@capguncowboy: I still wanted "The Squid" in the movie. :(

@armagedon: I'll agree with the "rarely" comment.

I AM SO READY.

Wish I lived in the UK because then I would have seen it by now.

I ordered my tickets last week. All they had were 3d... I'll just have to suffer through that :/

Can I just say that - he-who-is-handling-the-tags - is doing a great job.

Because I love the tag on this question: "he-who-must-not-be-named" :D

I have mixed feelings about the series drawing to a close (well, it kind of drew to a close with the final book).

I was in middle school when I started reading the books. I have since graduated college. A lot has happened in between the books/movies.

@abramokids: Oh well, if it's digital 3D then it isn't so bad. (Anything but those red and blue glasses!)

@mfladd: The tags did get changed around a little, but thankfully that one survived. Thank you mystery mod!

I am so ready for this! Got my ticket and am quite hyped.

@armagedon: I was very disappointed by the Watchmen movie. I loved the graphic novel, but the movie was a let-down. I had a couple of friends go with us on opening night that hadn't read the graphic novel, and we had to explain several things afterwards that the movie left out because they were confused.

As for the HP movie, I'm actually pretty excited. We have a group of 18-20 of us going to the midnight showing. While I won't be dressing up as much as I have in years past (my ex was always more into that than I was), we will all be dressing in our houses' colors; it's a fun way to create a bit of rivalry before the show.

This year I actually designed and printed a shirt based on the Honey Badger Don't Care meme:

I'm so glad that's going to be over.

I don't regret the past 11 years of my life but I'm ready to move on.

Thanks for all the memories Jo and I'll be damned if I'm going to pay to read fan fiction. (But I wouldn't mind the side stories....)
