Yes, there is definitely a conspiracy here.
When the game ends, the team with the most points wins...every time.
I mean just try to explain that!

Have sketchy things happened in the past? Certainly. Players have thrown games. Refs have called things certain ways. Perhaps leagues have even tried to manipulate things before.

But no, professional sports as we know it is not fixed. Not at all. Let's look at the football games last night.

Niners-Saints - Absolutely amazing back and forth game. This is the kind of game the powers that be would want to always create. But you can't. If they want a certain outcome, you can't leave the game in doubt till the closing seconds. Leagues don't have the ability to make a shot go in, or a pass be on the mark... fixed games wouldn't be in doubt in the closing seconds, or they're doing a piss-poor job fixing.

Patriots-Broncos - Clearly not fixed for exact opposite reason. Such a huge blowout, no one watched the second half. NFL doesn't want that.

If games are thrown, it's certainly not by the leagues in a conspiracy, since have a ton of credibility they would risk.

Football games fixed? Nah, but pro basketball games are. And baseball and soccer and women's field hockey and swim meets. Just my humble opinion. :)

Edit: I forgot the biggest fix of all--who gets the BOC. Yep, there ought to be an investigation into that one.

I doubt the NFL is fixed, but there are alot of politics involved.

Still, it's not as bad as the NBA. Those guys are just terrible.

Not American football, but Italian soccer teams have been caught doing just that within the last ten years. Just google "Italian match fixing" and you may be shocked at what you read.
