questionsmorning radio, what do you listen to?

Never liked Stern.

When I have the radio on, it's The Big Show.

I don't really listen to the radio, I listen to my MP3 player. But I do have my alarm set to a local morning show. The time that I wake up is when they give 5 minutes of traffic, news and weather, which is why I chose them. Is my path to work clear? What happened while I was sleeping? What should I wear today? That's all I want out of my morning show.

vote-for2vote-against

Stern's on that radio you have to pay for, right?

Yeah... no thanks.

I pretty much listen to CDs in my car. Only exception is during football playoffs, when I sometimes listen to the local ESPN radio affiliate.

vote-for6vote-against

Mike and Mike in the Morning and APR.

vote-for4vote-against

Sirius/XMradio "Today in Grateful Dead History" every morning at 7AM.

vote-for13vote-against

NPR. Morning, daytime, evening. And streaming via their website to catch items I missed during the day.

vote-for4vote-against

The Big Show with John Boy and Billy.

vote-for3vote-against

Local news station. Three hours of news. Hard to believe that much is going on here, in Kansas.

vote-for1vote-against

Another vote for NPR.

Depending on what time I go into work, it can be BBC World News (9-10), Brian Lerher (10-12), or Leonard Lopate (after 12, though I guess that doesn't count as morning radio).

About the only times I don't listen to NPR in the car is when I'm out of the area or the local station (WNYC) is doing a pledge drive. (I'm a sustaining member, so they automatically get $$ from me every month and I find the pledge drives annoying.)

vote-for4vote-against

With my new vehicle, I received 12 months of Sirius. I've been checking out Stern for the last couple months, but I still like Bob and Tom.

vote-for3vote-against

My Ipod. My husband (chauffer) will occasionally make me listen to 740 AM talk news, but I just read. It is too early to be interested in the real world.

vote-for2vote-against

Bob and Tom. If I'm in my wife's car, it's NPR.

vote-for3vote-against

Jack FM. Morning talk shows are just so infuriatingly mindless.

vote-for3vote-against

Dudley and Bob on KLBJ-FM Austin tx
They're the best!

vote-for2vote-against

Usually NPR, but sometimes Free Beer and Hot Wings.

vote-for3vote-against

Mark and Brian! Been a fan for 20 years. What sucks now is that they don't broadcast in the city I live in and I can't stream at the office, so I got cut off for a couple years. But they offer podcasts on iTunes so I can still listen, but a few days after the fact.

vote-for4vote-against

Another vote for NPR. Reception for my local station isn't good at my house, so I listen to it via my NPR News iPhone app!

On my way to work if I need a break from news I listen to Sirius, usually Alt Nation.

vote-for3vote-against

Anything that is not talk radio. Can't stand hearing all that blathering blatherskythe first thing in the morning.

vote-for3vote-against

Stern is all hype and over rated.
John boy and Billy lower your IQ.
Mike and Mike get stuck and talk about one issue for 2 hours when 15 minutes was too much. Also don't like how they rehash the interviews from the first 2 hours in the last 2 hours as if they are new.

I listen to Pandora on Quick Mix

vote-for5vote-against

@magic cave: Sounds like an obsession, you need to diversify! That drivel will eventually melt your brain. My vote goes to George Norry's Coast to Coast

vote-for4vote-against

NPR on the radio and that's it. If something else is on in the car it's either music from my phone or a tech podcast from TWiT.

vote-for3vote-against

Local news when I wake up. Then satellite on the way to work.

vote-for3vote-against

+1 to what @magic_cave said. Exactly, even the podcasts. They are great for workouts because as I strengthen my body, I strengthen my mind.

vote-for3vote-against

I either pop in a CD or play flip 'til I find music I like

vote-for4vote-against

I can't stand the morning shows that are on 99% of the "music" stations anywhere. I mostly listen to NPR, though when its pledge time some times I just listen to the sound of my car's engine (or a CD).

vote-for2vote-against

I used to listen to Bob and Tom, but I haven't listened to any radio for the past few years.

vote-for3vote-against

Used to listen to Free Beer and Hotwings, now I listen to NPR most of the time except when I'm going on long drives, then it's music.
Bob and Tom are a great thing to listen to if your goal is a lower IQ.

vote-for3vote-against

I am a talk radio ADDICT, so much so that I download the podcasts instead of listening live just so I don't miss anything. I love Bob & Sheri and Kidd Kraddick in the mornings, and (locally) Kentucky Sports Radio and Tom Leach in the afternoons.

vote-for5vote-against

I start out on the news/traffic/weather station then switch over to the Oldies station. Only morning radio show I can really stand, especially since my commute isn't long enough to really enjoy NPR.

vote-for3vote-against

Elliot in the Morning - in the greater DC area.

vote-for5vote-against

Woody and Rizzuto, don't know how anyone can listen to NPR

vote-for3vote-against

@elizapipp: I'm with you on Kidd Kraddick in the Morning. I've been listening to them for at least 14 years and feel as though I know them and their families. And I love the Kidd's Kids trip they sponsor. Any show that can accomplish something positive along with being entertaining is worth a button on my radio!

vote-for4vote-against

@hossdawg97 Throwing in another vote for Mike and Mike. Although I have a short commute, I still like ESPN radio in the morning.

vote-for3vote-against

@belyndag: Absolutely agree regarding Kidd's Kids! Even though I can not listen at work when they have Kidd's Kids Day anymore, because there is definite crying-at-my-desk danger.

It does annoy me how they're always getting on Kellie for her bargain-hunting, though! ...I wonder if she knows about deals.woot...

vote-for3vote-against

@hossdawg97: M&M & APR are bruceleeroy75 approved :)

vote-for3vote-against

Thank you Mayor Bloomberger...Stern RULES!!! Babba Booey!

vote-for3vote-against

I guess I'm the only one who still listens to Opie and Anthony. :-(

vote-for4vote-against

@elizapipp: Oooh! I guess one of us had better tell Kellie about Woot! Unless, of course, she's already here under an alias, seeking out the best deals.

And regarding Kidd's Kids, definitely "mascara alert" days!

vote-for3vote-against

Either nothing, the voices in my head, MP3s, or WTOS with Tom O and Mr Mike.

vote-for2vote-against

Occasional guilty pleasure of Bob and Tom.

vote-for1vote-against

@hottubrf: I used to listen to O&A a lot. I was never a big fan of Opie, but Anthony and Lil Jimmy always won me over. I know, I know.. Opie does a lot behind the scenes. He says it often enough to sink in, but I still don't think he is funny. Even his tantrums got old after the first couple. But I used to listen to them all the time. The Wiffle Ball Bat Challenge, Sex for Sam, Lesbian Couch, 55 Gallon Drum Challenge, etc. They were all great! Then they got fired for the Sex for Sam bit and when they came back something was missing. But I still listened. Then they got fined for Tipsy Tom's (RIP) little comment towards Condoleezza Rice and after that I personally think they got scared. I tried to stick with them, but I just got bored of the show.

But they did find and or support a TON of great comedians. One being Lewis Black. And of course Patrice O'Neal (Big RIP).

vote-for2vote-against

Sometimes I just listen to my MP3s or Spotify. Otherwise, it's usually (at points during the morning) my local talk radio, then Beck, then Rush. But, aside for talk radio, I don't do much radio. I'm better at playing what music I want to hear :-)

vote-for2vote-against

Once upon a time, I used to listen to the MJ Morning show. He occasionally made me rage, but overall he seemed like a good- if republican/conservative- person. He was patriotic, had his share of opinionated things to say, etc. I started listening back when it was MJ & BJ - Got to hear the evolution of Froggy from background voice to foreground show-addition, etc. They went off the air earlier this month. It felt like the end of an era. My life had managed to rearrage itself so I could hear the final few episodes on my way to school... which was like it was the first time I started listening.

Now I listen to music while they try to figure out a radio show, NPR, or 105.7 (The Point)... although the point comes in kinda fuzzy sometimes.

vote-for2vote-against

armstrong and getty. Norcal talk radio show with a following all over the place via podcast/iheartradio. These guys are funny as hell!

vote-for2vote-against

NPR with the DR show and then I turn to Rush while I drive.
