Do you use DropBox or Windows Live Mesh (or other file syncing services)? Favorite?
And if you do have a favorite, why?
I set up DropBox on Wubi Ubuntu for my Android software development. It's handy for sharing images and other resource files. My small Android OS group meets every Thursday at a local pub and Dropbox is perfect for ad hoc file sharing. I'm a huge themer and love swapping out dock and clock themes on the fly.
I use Unfuddle as my source code repository and it works great.
When I was running my Call of Duty 4 server, we used dropbox.com for our redirect downloads for mods. It was super fast and free. I can't complain about that. I still use it for file sharing with a few close friends. I feel a bit guilty and have considered subscribing for an account, but haven't yet.
I've never used mesh, but I've heard good things.
i've used dropbox but not mesh. dropbox was for working on certain files from home when remoting was unavailable. it was ok, worked as needed but i didn't use it as much since my files were all saved elsewhere, not in the dropbox folder. to use i'd have to remember to copy it over before going home
Call me paranoid but I still don't 100% trust online data vaults, so I just carry a pw protected flash drive with essential files
But I do use Amazon Cloud for any music I have bought from them, and it works pretty well
I use Dropbox, but not for anything I consider sensitive. Their TOS has some issues, though potentially necessary ones. I can't compare to Mesh, but I think I trust Dropbox to be less evil? Maybe?
