Color Laser Printers, genuine OEM or compatible toner?

I need to replace the toner cartridges on my Brother 9970CDW and the OEM toner costs some $380 while the compatible ones are at $80 some...

Is it worth it to try to save $300 here?

I certainly would try it. That's under 1/4 the price.

Just take a close look at the colors when it arrives. Maybe the magenta or cyan is a different shade than the OEM toner. Test it and see if this makes your pictures look funny. Also, watch how many prints you get off them. Maybe there's less toner in the cartridge, despite what the manufacturer claims.
