Well... as currently it would be considered murder, I can't really condone such activity, but yes. Any "vampires" that you would meet today in our world (not sparkle vampire paradise) would be killed if that was shoved into their heart. Realize that it will take a great deal of force and there will be a lot of blood. Also if you decide this is an activity you need to pursue, then you should consider putting a lawyer on retainer. ;)

I'm thinking you are going to need actually wooden stakes per all of my BTVS investigations.

Just to be safe, silver-cored wooden stake through the heart followed by beheading and full dismemberment. Burn some, but not all of the pieces and bury the rest on separate continents wrapped in razor wire with the edges facing inward.

I'm surprised I didn't mix up vampires having OCD from The X Files "Bad Blood" episode in there with it all too.

I still say throwing bacon at zombies will by you time to run and get a shot gun.

I'd hope they turn to dust when staked like on Buffy, as opposed to exploding blood and guts like on True Blood.
