All right, maybe Sport.Woot will offer a WBO Welterweight Title Belt. I hear they're for sale these days.

vote-for36vote-against

hope this doesn't mean we're in for a scary.woot or posh.woot

vote-for7vote-against

Maybe Dallas can buy a real football team. LOL

vote-for19vote-against

Aww, I was holding out hope for Pets.Woot to be the next one. But then again, I'd probably be broke if that existed. Welcome, Sport.Woot!

vote-for8vote-against

@heyjoie: just keep a lookout on the woot job postings for the next buyer they're recruiting for. when you see a "Buyer: Pet Items" job listed, wait a few months and BLAM! pet.woot!

vote-for8vote-against

@w00tgurl: YES! Or better yet, I'll just send them a resume and 50 pictures of me with my cat and maybe they'll hire me?

vote-for33vote-against

Am I the only one who thinks Woot is getting really diluted? I even embraced Home.woot. But now with Woot Plus (that we can't even discuss the deals of) and yet another Woot site, it just is starting to feel like yet another discount site. That's too bad, because Woot was special.

vote-for5vote-against

Nice. No, it's not shooting.woot, but I'll take it!
Hopefully all these new woot sectors and stuff.woots won't leave 'ol @brutherford without anything to do :D - Looks like Moofi's still going strong though.

Woot's had some pretty good deals on "sporting" stuff lately, so it'll be interesting to see what they have lined out for the debut,

Funfact: sportS.woot.com doesn't exist :)

vote-for22vote-against

@tsfisch: I'm with you. The more the site is balkanized, the less interesting and more cumbersome it becomes.

On the other hand, though, I feel about sport.woot.com pretty much the same way I feel about sports on TV: I'd be happy never to see it again, ever, so perhaps moving the sports crap to its own woot site will work better for me personally.

vote-for11vote-against

@tsfisch: No, you're not, although I've only been here a few months so maybe my perspective is clouded by so many changes since I've been on the site. But I liked the initial site I found. That's why I started participating more. Now...well, I'm beginning to wonder how much time I'll spend here because my head is beginning to spin.

vote-for16vote-against

@tsfisch: 100% in agreement. Just like every other flashy, too busy site. From "1 deal a day" to as many deals as we can stuff into the site. plus! more. Sad. Apparently not only has their business plan changed, but they've also decided they need a new demographic. I'm not one of the 'new ones.'

vote-for4vote-against

Let's get some ice hockey gear in there!

vote-for5vote-against

I guess it gives them a place to put all the hiking and golf stuff...

vote-for9vote-against

@palady: I'm kind of in a similar situation.

I started coming here for the shirts, and just started participating in the community because I liked the basic idea behind woot, and the community seemed rather fun.

Now I'm here just for the community, and even then I already am finding myself coming less and less.

vote-for9vote-against

I'm so glad that the switch to Anvil blanks is subsidizing the expansion into new dot.woot domains.

vote-for5vote-against

Needs more Schwetty Balls

vote-for14vote-against

I'm kind of with @magic cave on this one: I generally don't need or want sports stuff, so (hopefully) this will keep that stuff away from the main woot site. (I feel the same way about the kids stuff since mine are older, but not yet old enough to have their own kids; kids.woot is the only woot site where I have zero purchases... I almost got the Kinex video coaster for the older one twice, but she stopped me both times.)

Other than the lack of discussion threads for the plus items, I don't see a problem with them, though the plus items I want keep selling out before I see them.

The remodelled site is very bright, but turning down the brightness on my monitor fixed that problem.

vote-for9vote-against

I was hoping for vacuum.woot where all the Dyson, Roomba, and any other vacuums could be posted leaving the regular woot sites for other offers. Even today, there's another Dyson DC25 posted. Woot is going down-hill fast because the variety of products has decreased.

vote-for7vote-against

I'm still holding out hope for Vice.woot where they'll sell liquor, cigars, bad-for-you food.

vote-for5vote-against

On the other hand it seems like they are listening to feedback. I don't know how recent it was b/c I've been busy but at least wootplus deals don't show on the page automatically now. It's a work in progress and I think they're really trying.

vote-for10vote-against

I have some misgivings about sport! In fact, I have some misgivings about woot! home! sport! kids! shirt! wine! sellout! & community sourced deals! too. All those exclamation points on the tabs across the top of the site strike me as sort of bizarre. When it was just Woot!, a case could be made that the exclamation point was, um, ironic. Now I half expect to go to home! and find an infomercial about shamWow!

If I were visiting Woot for the first time, I think I wouldn't feel drawn in & I think I probably wouldn't return.

I don't mean to (merely) complain; I feel somewhat lost on the beta site, and that concerns me.

BTW, am I the only person whose mouse fingers click on home! and expect to wind up on the woot! home page, as distinct from the home! page? And see, I know about woot.home!, and I do it anyway. I can only imagine landing here as a newby and trying to figure it out.

Anyway. This rant is brought to you courtesy of Monday morning, eased a tad by a cup of coffee.

vote-for4vote-against

These changes and additions are things people have been asking for. True, not every wish is granted but they never are, sometimes you have to be careful what you ask for...you may get it.

vote-for5vote-against

Maybe I can finally pick up that curling set I've been wanting for my back yard...

vote-for3vote-against

Nothing against sport woot, though I'll likely ignore anything on there not camping gear, but I was a little miffed that my daily email listed its deal rather than my usual kids one. Completely threw off my daily wooting order! Now the day feels all wrong.

vote-for4vote-against

@lavikinga: Um.. wine.woot already exists. I've seen chocolates, caramels, etc on there.

vote-for5vote-against

I knew I could count on the community!
I just saw it this morning as I was browsing around the site, and went, "wait a minute -- where'd that come from, I'll go check the community" -- sure enough, there was a question and discussion going already!
Thanks guys!

vote-for6vote-against

I think it's an interesting marketing idea, but think they would be more successful with Starwars.Woot.

vote-for8vote-against

I think there are getting to be too many whatever.woot.com -- I'd rather see fewer deals at much deeper discounts.

vote-for7vote-against

@tsfisch: Can I upvote your comment like 5x :) - I agree that woot is getting dilluted and complex. I'm starting to fall out of love.

Time to show us some luvin', Woot!

vote-for4vote-against

@okham: Or that set of Lawn Darts... Anyone up for a game?

vote-for3vote-against

@theselected: My set is wearing out.. I need to find someone willing to part with their set soon! :)

vote-for3vote-against

@theselected: Don't you have to be them in separate pieces now? sport.woot could have a weeklong promotion and offer a different part each day!

vote-for5vote-against

@ki4rxm: Wine is wine. Beer is beer. And I don't see a beer.woot happening anytime soon. I meant liquor, as in the spirits: scotch, gin, vodka, etc., and the other things out there that are supposed to be bad for us. Butter, cheese, dangerous men, cigars, guns, fast cars and loose women can all go on a Vice.woot site. I'd rather have wine.woot for wine & wine related products.

"Candy is dandy, but liquor is quicker."

vote-for1vote-against

The real problem isn't woot itself, but all the whiners. Good deals, good website, but lots of babies crying about dilution, lack of deals, etc. if you think it's so bad, try your hand and make your own deals site. Unbelievable. I'll keep buying happily from woot and understand that it is what it is, just like life; you can't always get what you want. Didn't your mom teach you that?

vote-for2vote-against

I can't see that I'll ever buy anything off of sport.woot unless they start considering video gaming a sport...

vote-for6vote-against

One thing I just posted over there, and want to make sure gets expressed here too:
If you have been involved in a particular sport (fishing, marathons, etc.) and want to share tips, talk shop with others, or even start something new sport-wise and don't know where to begin, feel free to start those threads!

Enjoy!

vote-for3vote-against

@jeremytheindian: Not sure what you mean by the WootPlus comment, but I do agree they're listening - I noticed they changed (not me) to (sign out) next to the user name.

vote-for3vote-against

Woot, I am dissapoint...
I barely even noticed it was there. Only realized after opening the new video podcast...

vote-for3vote-against

@heyjoie: Make that a picture of you and your 50 cats and the job is yours!

vote-for3vote-against

Woot: Green
Home.Woot: Orange
Kids.Woot: Yellow
Shirt.Woot: Blue
Wine.Woot: Maroon/Deep Red
Deals.Woot: Gray
Sellout.Woot: Dark Green
Local.Woot: Light Blue

And now Sport.Woot: Light Green?

Couldn't we introduce a new color like Bright Red or even Purple?

@wvutkep1002: My parents certainly taught me that the world does not revolve around me. However, they also taught me that I shouldn't sit back and "happily" accept whatever is handed to me. They taught me to speak up when my voice would add to a discussion, to ask insightful questions to elucidate information and situations, and to listen when I didn't know enough to contribute meaningfully. They also taught me to keep my mouth shut or walk away gracefully when my disagreement with a discussion or situation wasn't going to be productive.
