What did you get in your Hero Wiz charity comic sale?
Hero Wiz has done a couple of charity sales of comic book grab bag packages like this one, to benefit Doctors Without Borders:
I got my order in the mail today and thought it would be fun those who ordered to compare notes as to what they got. In my package, I got the following:
Shadow Riders # 1 (June 1993, bagged and boarded)
411 #2 (July 2003, bagged and boarded)
The Spectacular Spider-Man #229 (October 1995, "Giant-Sized Extravaganza")
The Last Defenders #2 (June 2008)
Supergirl #23 (July 1998)
Warlock and the Infinity Watch #20 (September 1993)
Steel Annual #2 (September 1995)
The Power of Shazam #5 (July 1995)
JLA #18 (May 1998)
Superboy #58 (January 1999)
I have to say, I'm pretty impressed. I got some cool comics and the money went to a good cause. I'd do this deal again in a heartbeat.
So if you ordered, what did you get?
Hey Wingnut, Glad you enjoyed your comics! I was running through issues that I had multiple copies of so a lot of people got similar items, I did try to add a few different books into each lot so not everyone got exactly the same thing, But I think everyone got a JLA, Superboy, Warlock and Steel.
Unfortunately, the USPS doesn't consider Comics media mail so if we did do this again it would need to ship priority mail and I'm not sure if people would be willing to spend the difference. We would need to collect a total of $6.49 to be able to make sure we can send the non-profit the proceeds and cover the shipping supplies and priority postage. (though you would get the books faster) we just can't do it cheaper then this.
I would be very interested in hearing from everyone if they think this is a reasonable cost for a good cause. Otherwise it just doesn't make sense to do again.
