Has anyone ever successfully replaced their iPod Touch battery?

My iPod Touch battery had been dying for a long time. I recently tried to replace it but I ruined the touch screen in the process. How many people can actually pull this off?

I have had to replace the click wheel batteries in the past. They have been a pain but if you took your time and was super GENTLE they were fine.

A guy I work with had to replace the home button on his iPhone. He ordered the parts from eBay and did it himself and he has absolutely no technical or repair skills.

My husband did it, partly with tools bought on ebay, and some of his own. Put in a new volume button too. From what I saw of it, it is NOT for the faint of heart, or poor of eyesight!
