I find it immensely amusing that whenever this bug occurs, wither I am sleeping, it is the Sabbath or I am totally not effected by it when everyone else is. Either way, I can vote. I'd stick in a neener here but lets face it, this isn't something to brag about.

The leaderboard was broken a minute ago but works now... er, for now.

edit: and I get the "this is only for people who have bought woots" message when I try to vote, too.

This is only for people who have bought woots
We restrict voting to users who have purchased something from one of the other Woot stores. It's not just because we want your money (which we do) - it's the best way to be sure all the votes are coming from real people and not spam-bots or phony accounts. The best way we can think of, anyway. For now.

You can always get voting rights by buying something from one of Woot's other sites:

woot.com wine.woot.com shirt.woot.com sellout.woot.com kids.woot.com Purchases through Deals.Woot don't count, because in that case you're not buying anything from us. And we don't have your account information for those purchases.

If you think you've bought something from Woot before and still can't vote, make sure you're logged in with the same account you used to buy from us.

@shawnmiller: Yeah, I'm another Twitter abstainee. The more I hear businessmen at Starbucks talk about it on their bluetooth earpieces the more I don't want to go near it.

Ugh. But still, I'm pretty curious about this Happy Hour thing.

Funny though. I have three accounts on Twitter. One I use to follow some of the woot folks, one that lies dormant for ten months out of the year, and a personal one. I have followers on the personal one, but I follow only my daughter.

I'm just not a fan of something that emulates being trapped in a restaurant next to the most boring people on the planet. Worse. They're hard of hearing, so they talk very loud.

I like email best. I have long conversations, some of them ongoing for months, or even years, with friends. I'm old. Email for me.

So if we just check Woot! at 5pm (Eastern) every afternoon, instead of Twitter all day, won't we be able to get in on the mini-WootOff anyway?

@faughtey: twitter's best use-case is treating it like a live news feed. subscribe to a few experts and entertainers and just check in when you're bored. I like checking it when I wake up to close the gap between newspapers reporting previous days headlines and real-time. posting crap and/or linking updates to your phone with text messaging are so far down the list of feature value as to be irrelevant.
